Right now, Simmonds doesn't have the two way game for that. He's playing very offensively. But he is among a number of forwards on the team who are poor defensively.

My thought about the line was based on Terry Murray primarily using Simmonds in checking role in LA.

Simmonds fits your teams mold so well. Great trade.

Richards head first into the boards, doesn't miss a (frank)ing shift. This horseshoe bullpoop is getting old. (frank)ing sick of it.

Well, now that Avery is gone, I'd hate to see a bad injury on anyone, even if they play for the rags...maybe someone could mess up Lundqvist's impeccable hair though

Sounds like Kaleta will be meeting with Shamnahan

So someone tell me:

When did important streaks go from undefeated streak to games with at least a point streak? I thought Chicago lost a bunch in OT. Are these not losses anymore? They are losers in my book.

What the hell is going on in this world?

- feelingkettle

Yeah, those Hawks suck. I think their 3 losses were in shootouts if I'm not mistaken. So technically they really tied those games.

Geez, the 5 minute boarding penalty on Kaleta. Goals : Rangers - 2, Sabres -1 during the penalty, wow.

Definitely a suspension. Shanahan weights heavily if there was an injury as a result of the illegal hit.

The Rangers should be much better than their record shows.

I'm pretty sure one team got one more point than the other. Therefore, one team won and one team lost. If this is not the case, then everyone should shut the (frank) up about the Flyers' poopty record in shootouts. We have the greatest win-tie record in shootouts.

Gerbe just tied the game with a shortie.

This Ott is a heck of a player.

Simmonds hasn't shown me that he can play well enough defensively to play against top lines. Not that he's the only one. Although as poor as the Flyers are as a team defensively, there aren't many choices.

Their streak won't approach the Flyers streak, no need to worry about that.

Be nice if the Sabres could do Philly a solid in the standings.

They beat the Devils yesterday, and are playing without Vanek. I never thought this game would be competitive. They have played a lot better since firing Ruff.

The NBC sports whatever just showed 28 games with a point or something. That's pretty close already. Not sure how they got there, but I'm sure tomorrow it'll be 100 games anyway.

This game has 3 point game written all over it. I must be to old school when I was actually okay with a tie and 1 point for each team after a 5 minute OT.

Hartnell was 2nd in the entire NHL in PP goals last Season. Makes no sense to take him off of that unit and replace him with Gagne.
- MJL

Makes perfect sense. How many pp goals does Hartnell have this season? I can tell you Gagne has one more then he does. Last season was last season. Even sticking Brayden Schenn back there is a good idea.

So I went to the Flyers game on Saturday and STILL hear people crushing the Flyers for making the trades of Richards and Carter. There was a group of guys sitting behind me and they were bashing the trade and I turned around and asked them.. Would you trade Schenn and Simmonds for Richards right now? They said no. I said would you trade Couturier and Voracek for Carter right now? They said no. I shook my head.

Will that ever die? Those were great trades, and those 4 players prove it more and more every game.

I mean hell, Schenn, Voracek, Simmonds are right there after Giroux as our top 4 forward this season. All producing more than #18 and #17 I am pretty sure.

And in the long run, Couturier could end up being the best player we acquired in that trade!

For their latest trick, the Sixers lose to the Wizards. Has the novelty of Doug Collins worn off yet?

Did Bobby Clarke make the Bynum trade?

Sixers will have a new coach next year and Bynum has zero chance of being here.

Bright side the Sixers will have some cap space.

You miss Kubina? I know you like that trade last year.
