I suggest komi and a 3rd/4th to phx for a 7th.
- Bieksa#3

I suggest just waiting until the summer and set Komi free with a buyout...

The last Leaf ceremony was an absolute disgrace, both in terms of the content, and the response from the 'fans'. I truly believe they should stop doing them. The crowds (in the lower seating areas) at the ACC are simply too egotistical and full of themselves to understand what they are seeing.
- fifty__missions

agreed. although it might behove MLSE to perhaps communicate to those sushi-boalers that they should "get in the f_____ seats", both for the celebrations and maybe even for the beginning of the periods.

I guess we can chalk up the Paradis for Tlusty trade as a bad one, and no, Tlusty doesn't = Percy. We moved both Paradis and Stalberg for Versteeg........so its actually Tlusty and Stalberg for Percy.

I didn't like the deal then. Felt it was dumping the baby out with the bathwater. Ah well.....Good for Carolina.

Mr T- LUSTY ( his porno name) was going tno where with the Leafs. If he remained a Leaf, who knows where he would have wound up, mabie he'd be buried in the AHL or perhaps he'd be a full time porno star. It was Carolina that turned T-LUSTY's career around. Kudos to the Canes.

I feel bad for Komisarek. Burke thought he was getting a different player when he signed him. I've never really doubted his desire or work ethic, he just had no chance of succeeding in Ron Wilson's system. Now with Carlyle here, he's a victim of numbers; too many defensemen and not enough minutes to go around. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere.

For what? Its not like komi could play for any decent team.
- Bieksa#3

I used to say that about every leafs d-man. ie. take Jay Harrison for example....he's being used very effectively for Carolina. Or how about Beauchemin, he's Anaheims big gun on d. I do think Komisarek can fit into a few teams out there, but right now, none are desperate enough. And I'm not expecting a huge return, I just don't think tossing in a 3rd round pick just to get rid of his contract is a must. I mean if the Leafs could move Lebda, or Toskala, or even Jason Blake, they can move anybody

Agreed...

If i where Komi i would have requested a move to the Marlies...

That said the Leafs may have refused to send him down...Playing and getting injured could hurt the leafs..

- Fruitcakenipple

maybe the organization knows well enough the kind of damage Crapasarek can inflict on teams and goalies... and maybe they don't want another train wreck on their hands.

Maybe. But is a 4th for a 7th really worth roughly 3 mill? I know the leafs have a lot of money but there is such thing as stupid.
So many fan bases kept suggesting that this guy and that guy will be bought out. Personally I think there will be very few multi mill buy outs around te league

They might have to throw in a plug like Kassian to even things out.

We don't have room on the 3rd line.

well, this is true, but I wonder what Dallas Eakins could've done with him. Burke was pretty quick to make a decision on his is all I'm saying. He was 21 years old, younger than Naz is right now, and just coming off a concussion. The season he had before should've given him a longer leash, but it didn't. He wasn't the only one, and this is probably the thing I agree with UG, just not to the degree of which he felt that way about every young guy that was moved. But its old news, and Burke did a lot of good too. Like the canuck poster said, he hit homeruns or struck out.

Look at everyone of those examples. Harrison made nothing so no risk. Beauchiman was easily a top 4. Lebda to help take Lombard is unisursed contract.
As I said add a 3rd/4th to komi to nyi-phx etc

Most top tier coaches are bad with kids. See AV, Babcock, Hartley etc. The kids in mtl have been great this yr however

You answered ur own question.
When was the last time Toronto made the cup finals?

- Whiskey-Tango

People in Toronto were pretty well behaved when the Blue Jays won. Everyone just had a good time. And MLB doesn't have the President's Trophy, those were real championships!

right
If van waived Lu he would be claimed in a sec. Problem is Gillis is to stupid to just take a depth player or 2 back and get rid of him. I think he ultimately ends up in Florida for nothing much

As an Ontario resident myself I am positive if the leafs lost in game 7 of the cup finals there would be a riot dwarfing the one in Vancouver.

I am with you Jeff... under Carlyle's system this season he was a plus 2 and I thought he played decently... but I think Carlyle wanted more toughness out of him.. hence the rotation.. once Fraser came in.. & Holzer.. it basically locked him out..

Although overpaid... I think he would be a decent workhorse in Carlyle's system.. Liles on the other hand should've been benched before Komi by their play this year... but like Jeff said he never fit into Wilson's leave the goaltender hanging defense core.. and didn't have the speed to handle all the odd man rushes..

Don't know if he is trade-able but hope he gets a chance somewhere... if not in Carlyle's system.. Holzer has been cold of late.. wouldn't mind seeing Komi in his spot... if not Gardner to see if he has worked out the wrinkles in his defensive game.

Toronto prides itself on winning and doing it properly.. if the Leafs won.. guaranteed no riots.. but the parties would go on for a week... it would be crazy...

You can say that, and I can't really argue with it because it's an opinion, but there's really no evidence to back it up. On the other hand, it's easy to say that Vancouver would do it because they rioted over a Guns 'N' Roses concert.
