I don't think Feaster deserves a break. He either didn't know about this rule, or knew about it and didn't ask for a clarification from the NHL. Either way it is not something the GM of a professional sports team can do and not be held accountable.

It seems all the thngs have more to do with the EGO of the GM than the good of the team.

No one wants picks because the time they develop, the current GM is long fired.
No one want to be seen as weak and easily plucked.
