Stajan is playing well this year...he isn't a bad player he was just given a bad contract and wasn't used properly by the previous coach

So, he is playing for free then? No, ok.
And I presume you are highly impressed with his performance this yr.
If I am not mistaken, Stajan has more points on a more friendly salary number.

- FLflames34

Now youre just being a Richard. RNH has a salary of $995,000.00 Stajan is one of the worst contracts Sutter gave out.

RNH does more than his numbers show...but you already knew that. Your pathetic.

According to the agent...they never had any discussiona about it with Feaster....
- Iggysbff

the agent obviously didn't think they would have to waive him or he wouldn't have advised his client to sign the offer sheet

Agreed. I dont think Stajan is bad either. Just not what Sutter made him out to be. And not worthy of that contract.

Each team has some of those....Horcoff. Good player, just not what his contract has made him out to be.

The RNH point was brought up when Oilers fans kept insisting the ROR is a "2nd line center" RNH is on an entry level contract he will be over 5+ on his next contract

Either way...one of them is lying. Feaster says the agent had the same interpretation implying that they discussed it. Agent says it never came up.

Oiler fans are usually very honest. If there is a player or management that is not performing, we admit it and admit bad contracts and deals.

Flames fans on the other hand defend every move management and players makes no matter how bad.

Thats the difference I see....

we must know different Oiler fans...the Oilers management haven't done anything besides fail and draft #1 and are continually praised for it

You have the best and most accurate take on this topic ...well said

No shame in making the call ....Feaster
It was lazy

It all fits this Calgary organization

Their idea of a long term plan is "Make the playoffs with old players"

Feaster will be gone this year ... He knows it and this bold Hockey move was about making the team better and saving his job

Too bad he didn't think to throw a Quarter in the pay phone and call Daly

Big....Big Mistake

- PEIHawkFan

How is it that so many of you think he didn't make a phone call? The NHL seemed as oblivious to the facts as Feaster and Sherman were. I love how everyone jumps on the band wagon when a reason to hate is given. There are so many facts that we as fans will just never know.

The NHL still isn't sure on this and will clarify in the weeks to come, right now they are just throwing Feaster and the Agent under the bus

Man. You're going grade school on this topic all day. Somebody laughs at Feaster...."have you seen Gillis?" Now this guy busts something out and blam.."even your own friends don't like you". What's next? "Nice shoes you get those at the Salvation Army?"

No. Not true.

I am certain there wasn't one fan who was optimistic about Gary Leeman. I really don't have to get more detailed than that to prove my point. Silly blanket statement.

You dont live in Calgary. In hind sight most hate that deal, but at the time I know lots of guys spouting praise about Leeman. Risebroughs hands were tied on that one too as he "had" to get rid of Gilmour asap for whatever he could get back.

the fact is this CBA was rushed after the league and players (frank)ed up half the season and there is still a lot of grey area. Hockey was rushed back before all the I's were dotted and T's were crossed, they teams don't even have the full CBA yet. Everyone wanted to get hockey back ASAP so they could start taking our money and cut corners

Agreed. All sides (frank)ed this up. Feaster, Sherman, the NHL, and the player and agent. Blame to go all around.

there are plenty of people in Calgary pissed at the Flames in general...probably 75% or more of fans. The thing for me is the media piling on after the fact as usual.

League is going to clarify the CBA, just heard on hockey night
