Borderline. Looked to me like he was leaving his feet, but hadn't yet at the point of contact. Left his feet after contact was made. Gonna be an interesting call for Shannahan.

With the looks I've see so far I think it's a good hit. He had not left his feet prior to contact. But it was close, very close.

It might be argued that he left his feet, Definite head contact but that was because the head was WAY down.

I'm not sure if it warranted a game, or even a penalty, unless they say he left his feet.

exactly! it's not the hitters fault if the player makes contact with a player that has his head down. does that mean i should skate with my head down all the time so i can draw 5 min penalties? at full speed it's a clean hit you can slow anything down to say he left his feet

The NHL of old is gone, a la Scott Stevens open ice hitting. Concussion awareness has lead to this. Anything with contact to the head is a suspension.
