Yeah and Galchenyuk will be better than any of your top 6. Most balanced player.
You know BALANCE??
Oilers suck right now and will for at least 3 years if the dont change mentality. - soad_live

False.
No Gionta, no Markov, No Galchenyuk, no Gallagher. - soad_live
He didnt list Gally or Gallagher. And yes you had Gio and Markov.
And it doesnt surprise me that you profess that Gally will be better than all 6 of the top Oilers.

That's debatable, but i don't see a single young gun being as defensively responsible as Galchenyuk. That being said, are you the kind of guy that say Yakupov is better than Galchenyuk?
If so, no nedd to argue here because that will never be the case. |

False. We never get UFA we want, and ending up with overpaid plan B. Thats the reality. - soad_live
And who do the Oilers get? Overpriced plan D. I hope you don't start trying to convince me that the Canadiens have the same problems as the Oilers do during FA period else we'll have to have a lengthy discussion/circle jerk. |

yea ur right... i feel so bad for edmonton because no on wants to play there..... get over urselfs ..... they don't wanna play there cause they don't see the management doing a good job.... any team that is at the bottom of the standings has to over pay for ufa's. |

I really dont know yet which of the two are better, but Eberle to me is probably the best of the whole crop. Right now, its only ignorance that can dictate who will in fact be the best of the bunch, but one thing I do know is that the odds are stacked highly in Edmontons favour when they have Eberle, Yak, RNH and Hall VS Gal. |

Thats the thing. Same reason Leaf fans go all ga-ga over guys like Kadri and Rielly. Just not used to it. |

First off, I can't say that what I've seen would indicate that Galch is a great defensive player, but, that being said, I can't say I've watched a lot of Habs games, either. I'll drop it for now. |

I'm not trolling. I'm here to try explain why Edmonton doesn't show up, this year again.
Dunnyk is not a number one goaltender. Maybe he will one day but not this year. Shultz is not a no.1 defensman but surely will. Your top six is filled with talent, but the won't win in a men league, not until they are men.
And one of you brought the Hab's, not me. I never said the Habs will win the cup or not fall. |

i dunno if we should trust ur math.... that is 6 guys... not 5 guys on montreal. - derm10
so when I included Gomez buy-out, but then said 5 guys "playing" as in playing for Montreal, I lied? I think we need a new hockeybuzz for frenchies. #vivelaseparation |

RNH gets compared to Datsyuk for a reason. He's worked wonders defensively this year, but just hasn't had his offensive game quite there if you get what I mean (sophomore slump and all). Eberle was more responsible last season, but I don't know what happened. Hall is always back checking because he hates losing and Yakupov is fresh to the league. I don't expect strong defensive awareness from him anytime soon.
In time, defense will likely come. Look at Gagner now. He's just now getting played on the PK with frequency and he's been one of the best PKers in the league thus far. Just give it time and we'll see how it plays out. - MaximumBone
but isn;t gally fresh to the league too....? |

Edmonton needs to patient. There will be lots of buyouts and FAs this summer where they can fill needs without giving up assets. If that fails, then maybe trading has to be considered. |

no he doesn't... and i guess u are calling them a cup contender? - derm10
yes he does. The amnesty clause comes in to play after this season. That's why players will be bought out in the off season. Bergevin just bought Gomez out early because he didn't want him around, so he'll be against the cap for 2013. |

i didn't say there was only on... just asked when an oiler last won rookie of the year.... hard question i know. |
