When you compare that to 06-09 it's pretty glaring.

sure when a team sucks and get the top draft pick the gm has nothin to say but yeah we are rebuilding.. but that doesn;t mean the gm hadn;t been making moves in previous years to build a better core for the future. hell if ur team doesn;t make the playoffs 2 years in a row ur rebuilding.. be it on the fly or total tear down and rebuild....clear??

It's all in the word to me. REbuild. Every team is building, trying to make moves that brings a team closer to a cup. At a certain point, you'll see a franchise that make moves to signify that the direction they've gone in hasn't worked, and they have to work more or less from scratch.

Really didn't piss me off. Sometimes you worry that you're too insular talking to fellow Oiler fans, and it's nice to get outside perspective. This showed me I have nothing to worry about, and that there's too much of a premium placed on the opinions of those that only casually touch base with your team.

I'd kill to sign Morrow as a UFA this year. Unlikely though. Yea. EDM needs a leader, I think Hall'll get there but we gotta give these guys some time. You can't expect to see drastic improvements until the kids are a little older.

Because the Hawks and the pens were competitive within that 6 year span. Pens drafted in the top 5 in 2002, and were in the playoffs by 2006-07. Blackhawks drafted Seabrook in 03 and made the playoffs in 08-09.

Maybe next year we'll make moves enough to nab a playoff berth. Or the year after that. We've got time.
