cap geek has it the other way around. holzer on the 1 way and the other 2 on a 2 way. - sens rock
Waiver exemption has nothing to do with 1 or 2 way contracts.. All his contract means is that he makes the same money in the AHL that he would in the NHL.. formula for waiver exemption is something like age/games played/years in league/etc. |

Looks so tentative. - SameOld
He even stopped in the neutral zone last night when he was challenged by a defender - something seems wrong for sure. |

Is Mclaren not waiver exempt though? why waive Steckal if you can just send Mclaren down - steve362
hmm... I didn't think so, but might be.
Still, he's played every game. Steckel's never played till injuries. Steckel is expendalbe for Carlyle, McLaren's not - he wants him in lineup |

Unfortunately that still won't get him to go into the corners. - SameOld
Corners? I'd be happy if he got within 10 feet of the net. |

Nope, Holzer has a 2 way and the other two would have to pass through waivers. - SameOld
He has a 1 way contract but is waiver exempt. |

Lupul is always in the corners, and Bozak usually parks in front... No idea why but That is the basis of their success - steve362
If he does go in front he'll make sure Captain Phantastic isn't shooting from the point. |

Yea I agree, Id rather have Mclaren in the lineup as this season has been going but you need to balance the business aspect of the game too. |

Holzer signed his ELC in 2010 when he was 22. Therefore he is waiver exempt for 3 years after that signing, OR 70 NHL games whichever comes first.
It's been 2 years and Holzer has played 2 NHL games, therefore he is waiver exempt for 1 more year or for 68 more games, whichever comes first. Since this is a 48 game season the year will come first, and next season Holzers waiver exemption status will expire.

Why, exactly, do we want Phil Kessel within 10 feet of the net with regularity? |

Creating this garbage is a manifestation of stupid talk Mike. Kadri will be a Leaf for a long time, nuff said. The alleged ruffled feathers you speak of is something that he had to deal with, with different personnel. AKA Wilson (mostly Wilson), and Burke basically running the team according to Wilsons vision in regards to what team HE wanted to ice. Kadri is blossoming under Carlyle and Randy is giving the kid what he was waiting for and he has to be understanding of the process he went through. A large credit also goes with Dallas Eakins as Kadri i know for a fact, loved playing for the guy, he clearly got the best out of our youngster and theres no reason to speculate on him being the next "O'Reilly". O'Reilly was amongst an influx of centermen on a club that overpaid Stastny and underpaid Duchene, which led to them being destined for the harsh situation they endured with O'Reilly. Kadri will have no problem signing on the dotted line with us, and he'll do so for 3.75 when all is said and done. (Versteeg type salary). |
