What call-up??
People keep saying Strickland said this, but I have yet to see it...... it is nowhere in his twitter at all. That's the problem with twitter some times, someone says someone said something and everyone believes them with no other evidence other than the 2nd hand report that so and so said something. Look at who reported that strickland said it, and that he gave go evidence of it. - burn
Jaden Schwartz....turns out its because Alex Steen is hurt.

I'm pretty sure his hockey knowledge was gained without the crucial element of "objectivity" in any sort of manner. It's hard being a fan around him. - Compeyson
Agreed. IF you think that I'm wrong, discuss. Don't take what I said, shove it up its own ass and then sprinkle in some misplaced passive aggression to go with it

you are right, he is wrong. - Big_Lightnin
I heard something last night repeatedly, that makes me not want to laugh at Calgary. The new CBA book hasn't even been distributed to the teams yet, its mostly a case of GMs calling in to check if a move they make is ok with the league. The fact they haven't gotten the CBA out to teams and we're 20 plus games into this season is a bit of a joke if you ask me.

Ek's latest blog talks about a statement by Daly earlier (several days or weeks...) where Daly said O'Reilly wouldn't have to go through waivers to return to NHL.
He's back tracking now saying he "was referring to him returning to Colorado."
pretty sure if that was the case, as a lawyer and to cover his ass he would have said "however, if he were to sign an offer sheet... yada yada" since obviously that was why the question was asked. Seems like they never considered the case of a RFA/offer sheet when discussing the rule, likely cause they didn't intend it to apply to RFA's, only UFA's as it has in the past
from what I've read, it's a stupid (frank)ing rule. Essentially Avs were protected from losing him to an offer sheet if everyone knew the rules. That doesn't seem right. Could theoretically be used to hide a player while negotiations continue.

something else - good like signing Duchene next summer to anything reasonable or at all. He's probably pretty pissed.

I still think its a case of simple GM backscratching/collusion....sometime between this trade deadline, july 1st and next TD, a deal will go down between the flames and the avs and it will look like like salary dumping or something of the sort...meanwhile its just a favour being returned....this makes much more sense than everyone including the agent, mostly lawyers by the way who are trained to dissect CBA's and contracts and find loopholes, playing (frank)ing stupid....
