Kadri is a thin lanky player. He has alot of skills but he need to learn to play the defensive side of the game. Not many player can step in at 20. He is also well insulated now. If the Leaf stop being a tough team, Kadri will have lots of difficulty.

half a season where he had 30+ games in the AHL to get game ready while half the league sat out.

asterisks all over it. 2 years for total of $6-7.5M is more than fair and good for both. He's suffered through unreal expectations a few years already - won't want to do it again.

Perhaps "shutdown" was a poor choice of words. I'd argue Bozak takes more important faceoffs and faces better competition than Kadri. Bozak plays PK and Kadri doesn't really. That's all I was saying. I don't think Kadri is playing a role such that they have the luxury of keeping him and losing Bozak.
