Even when healthy Gretzky's records, bth single season and otherwise, stood. Lemieux had better physical tools, but simply wasnt on Gretz' level mentally. Nobody was. Or has been since.
- sanfordnson

Lemieuxs would beat the gretzkys into submission. Sorry.

After 2 periods of play, there would be 5 Lemieuxs on the ice and 5 gretzkys on stretchers.

Both had very good teammates and played in an era that wasn't known for its defensive play and goaltending. Put Crosby on the ice in those days and he's smash Gretzkys records.

I think Crosby would be more like Lemieux, who neve smashed Gretzky's records. He was good, and maybe a more complete competitor, but offensively Gretz rules.

Crosby beats Gretz in every category. It was a different era so theres really no point debating it.

So i just watched some Gretzky highlights on youtube... Wow goalies sucked back then. The defense were so slow hahaha.. I guess im just used to seeing todays NHL. Crosby would have been a God back then.

Cannot see them wanting immediate help, more likely pick and prospect considering cap space isn`t an issue, 2nd round pick and Ty Rattie would be a nice pick up.

I think it is Liles and Kulemin for Schwartz. Or Liles for some type of prospect or pick. Hence the call-up. Are Leaf scouts in attendance tonight? The Blues I think are one of the teams Liles has said he'd never have an issue with going to.

I don't think Nonis is targeting immediate help at forward, not with Lupul and Frattin on the verge of coming back.

The guy here earlier mentioned a rumour he heard, which was laughed at, but this could be another Duxcup situation....I think it was Duxcup....can't remember.

What call-up??

People keep saying Strickland said this, but I have yet to see it...... it is nowhere in his twitter at all. That's the problem with twitter some times, someone says someone said something and everyone believes them with no other evidence other than the 2nd hand report that so and so said something. Look at who reported that strickland said it, and that he gave go evidence of it.

Also wonder if Pitts gets involved if it`s known He`s available, theres a group of fine prospects, great assets for further trades if nothing else.

3 months ago he was an out of shape bust. Now there's talk of comparing his situation to Ryan O'Reilly's.

My head hurts from all the irony.

I'm confused here... Came up to the cottage, was drinking with ppl till past 2, and then went for some alone time with the girlfriend.

Woke up this morning, and 2 people left already.

Nobody was sober last night.

Side note: it's their first time up here.

Should I be looking for a car-shaped hole in the ice?
