Really? I can think of a few who I'd give him straight up for...
EDIT: St Louis are very much underrated (less so after almost getting the President's trophy last year)... Their guys are well coached in exactly the type of hockey that Carlyle wants, I can see many natural fits here. |

I think it is Liles and Kulemin for Schwartz. Or Liles for some type of prospect or pick. Hence the call-up. Are Leaf scouts in attendance tonight? The Blues I think are one of the teams Liles has said he'd never have an issue with going to.
I don't think Nonis is targeting immediate help at forward, not with Lupul and Frattin on the verge of coming back.
The guy here earlier mentioned a rumour he heard, which was laughed at, but this could be another Duxcup situation....I think it was Duxcup....can't remember. - mykokes
Schwartz is small as (frank), (frank) that guy And he has proven nothing |

It's not so much about Schwartz helping the Leafs, as it is about clearing the deck and getting another young asset who is controllable, or who could in turn be used in a package to get another piece the Leafs want down the line. Or maybe Nonis likes him. |

I dunno, Leafs are log jammed with extra forwards & too man extra d men. Really I can't even guess what Nonis will do. Mabie he'll deal Liles for a prospect that doesn't need to clear waivers so this player can report to the Marlies. |

Very true, but if you get the chance to get a quality guy in then you take it. The Dave Steckels of the world can continue riding pine as far as I'm concerned |

I think Nonis is following what Burke left him in place, and remember i said on this group that Burke was in talks with St. Louis at the draft and it was evident that Burke was seen talking to their GM at the draft? Guaranteed it had to do with Stewart or Berglund. Nonis was there for that too. Doubt those certain "talks" had to do with Schwartz. Someone who the habs would be attracted to Nonis is following Burke's original plan set up at the same time has his own plan. |

Maybe, I just don't see him changing the make-up of the current group of guys RC is using. Frattin and Lupul returning create a log jam, as does Gardiner in the AHL. And I don't think Liles is too happy in the pressbox.
I'd love to get Berglund or Stewart or both.....but I think its too big a splash for Nonis to make, especially while we're 13-9. Maybe if we were 9-13. |

He definitely is not happy there, but he has to earn his way back on the team. I think that a package of Liles and Kulemin could get you a damn good return.... maybe one of the aforementioned guys plus a pick? |

Does not matter if were winning or not, its a splash that i would do in seconds. If talks are Liles, Kulemin for Stewart along the lines or if the blues add a bit more whatever the deal is along those lines id do it.
Its not a log jam, why would it be a log jam? You are replacing kulemin with stewart simple as that? |

Well if Kulemin is involved than a 1st has to come back the other way. So mabie Liles & Kule for a 1st & a prospect. |
