Mike makes a hell of a point tho.. if Kadri does indeed continue to be the offensive leader on the team to the point where he is a key component for carlyle night in and night out his agent might push the bar upwards. - Dozzer
Just don't see him earning huge bucks this next contract, and wouldn't be surprised if it's just a 2 year deal as well. |

It is something that the management of the Leafs have to be concerned about. He will be coming off one great year and may expect to hit the jackpot. - mikeinbuffalo
No it's not. Your comparable to RoR isn't accurate. He had a few good years topped off with the one last year (55pts). That's a legit argument to hold for king's ransom because you can argue momentum and trajectory.
Kadri doesn't have that same luxury, as he was essentially considered a bust before this year. My guess is that he'll sign quite easily for 2-3yrs @ 2.5-3.5 per. |

Meaning that Kadri will expect big money off of one season.
BTW, I'd love to have Ryan O'Reilly on my team. - mikeinbuffalo
The last part Mike... take that back! |

I personally don't think I'd call 26pts with a -7 and 26pts with a +4 good years.
Especially considering that the argument is how good his two way game is. The way we rip on Kulimen you'd think some of the same consideration would be given. |

Feaster is trying to justify his actions........ he says his interpretation is different, and that he would have challenged the NHL. But since the Avs matched its merely a academic point now.
Okay Jay....... just admit you (frank)ed up and move on. |

Can we say the cultural diversity of this great city is arguably the very best venue for such a talent as Nazem Kadri. He will not play anywhere else.
No...? |

Fact is he's a 3yr hockey pro, Kadri isn't. He's also improved and taken on more of a leadership role each year in an Avs uniform.
The stats on him are very misleading. Yes he's not a + player...but that's probably the most useless stat anyone can throw out. |

I don't think he'll get a whiff at $4.
$3.5 over 2-3yrs...that's my guess. |

I bet Jay Feaster gets at least a half-dozen calls from GM colleagues saying, "Hang in there. I could have made the same mistake." |

I'm not talking about Kadri at all. I'm talking about it being ludicrous what O'Reilly is getting paid. |

Then it's ludicrous what Grabo is getting paid?
And the point I was making is that Mike is out to lunch if he thinks the kadri situation is the same as RoR's |
