based on power rankings you could get Datsyuk and Tavares at 9/10, or you could get Stamkos/Marleau at 1/20
- steve362

yeah you could flip a coin to decide between those basically, can't really go wrong

if every hockey player went back into a new draft, and you were picking for the Leafs (or whoever), what would you rather have: the 1st overall and 20th overall, or the 10th and 11th overall?
- Zezel

I honestly don't think there'd be much difference. Players 1-20 in the NHL are all pretty amazing.

That being said, 1st and 20th, if only because the difference between 1 and 10 is slightly greater than 11 and 20.

1st and 20th. You get the best player in the league and there's enough talent to grab somebody very good, if not great at 20th to play with or behind the best player in the league.

He had 19 points in 33 games in the AHL this year and was a team worse -14. He is only 5'10" and 190 pounds not exactly the big centre the Leafs are looking for
- jribout

So we're looking at a case of the Leafs moving a vet d-man for a kid. THat's not far fetched. St. Louis is deep in forward prospects.

Frenchie, you said "record." If you meant 3rd highest since the turn of the century, thats fine. THough I'm impressed with Konstantinov's number.
- mykokes

Probably should have said Bud Light Trophy record But seriously, +/- before the first lockout is just whoever could be on the ice with Orr/Gretzky/Messier/Lemieux and so on.

Jaden Schwartz was a center for Team Canada World Jr team.
This is a damn for a center deal by t he sounds of it

- tmlfan17

I can't see what Dman we have to make a deal for Shwartz. Not Gardiner, all others don't get it done I don't think.

yeah I would too, but Stamkos and Marleau would work for me too

I'd still take Crosby over Stamkos though, I'd take Malkin over Stamkos too...actually I'd take a bunch of players before Stamkos

With kids like Rattie, and a loaded top 6 forward group, and the success they had with Alex Steen, I certainly can see a Liles, kulemin for Jaden, Cole swap.

It's amazing that Gretzky scored 200 points multiple times and Orr still has the +/- record. With Gretzky, it was a matter of trading chances and Gretzky just always being able to score one more. With Orr, he would score and you wouldn't. Period.

Who do you find more attractive, Jennifer Hedger, or Martine Gaillard?

Yeah, but if Datsyuk was younger....if all-new NHL overall draft was held to build all the teams from scratch I would take Stamkos now over Dats because he's younger

Typical Augello, always looking for a crisis. You'd fit in well with the mainstream Toronto media.

Don't want to hear the World Jr. argument, Brendan Bell, Ian White, Jay Harrison once comprised 3/6s of Canada's blueline, with Wellwood and Stajan as key offensive players.

Zach Boychuk was a first round pick and also on the world junior team and he's been on waivers this year.

Nobody could catch him back then after he took three steps, not too hard.
