If he continues to be the best forward, he will have good leverage to ask to be paid like the best forward.
- robin_steele264

Considering that this year is a shortened season and that he's an RFA, it's tough to judge what he's worth. Under normal circumstances, you can see what he can do over 82 games. If he ends up scoring 35 points in 48 games, it doesn't automatically mean he's a 60 point player. They would have to land somewhere in the middle and pay him for potential. Somewhere between three and four million per year for three or four years should be reasonable.

quincey has been better, lashoff has come in to replace brad stuart, the defense is far better and playing well.

Ian white is the guy who has sucked lately.

this is like the sens. having bad guys surviving in a good system doesn't make them good.

but if he ends up a 45 point guy in a 48 game season he has to be compensated for that. currently the on other player 22 and younger in the top 20 in scoring is tavares.

Mark Fraser is leading the league in +/- and Jeff Shultz almost set the record a few seasons back, doesn't mean they aren't poop.

He did not! FInally, I got Frenchie!

Said something comparable to JVRs deal would be good.

6-7 years at 4-4.25

If we give him a bridge contract it'll give us a couple more seasons, and if he lights it up he'll end up demanding ridiculous money. Get him locked in now at a reasonably low rate. We've already invested enough time in this guy

The guy I talked to definitely said Kulemin and a defenseman. I think the dman might have to be pretty decent if the Leafs would be getting Schwartz

You didn't take in the Clouts factor. He's actually a top line power forward in the mold of Lucic.

i agree but its hard to judge if u dont watch the team regularly, i barely watch the sens or other teams, so I couldnt say anything about the defense outside of Karlsson who gets a lot of attention

Sorry, just saying

When someone comes on a forum like this and claims that they have sources, it's such a bold statement that it's simply unbelievable.

That deal you put forward would be a nice haul, and I'm not even inclined to move Kuli until the off-season as we need his two-way skills

I said almost...his +50 was the second highest since 1999 and the three guys ahead were Forsberg (Hart trophy)/Hedjuk (Rocket Richard) and Pronger in his Hart trophy year.

The thing is, I can't see the Leafs moving a guy like Franson, as I get the sense that's who you're referring to.

Sure, we avoid having to pay-up for Cody in the off-season, but we're still left with the two overpaid tits in Komi and Liles.

This is something to possibly go down. Dredger first reported Kulemin to St. Louis.
I heard from a pretty decent source that it would be Kulemin & one of our defenseman didn't mention who for Ian Cole and Jaden Schwartz
Don't go off just passing what I heard.

- tmlfan17

dreger said where....

And what Dman?? I'm not interested in Cole.

Pfft, I did come in here last week and say there was going to be significant movement this week. PS. I don't think I got the job no call-back yet.

I feel Liles will be easy to move - not so concerned with the return as I am with being able to dump the salary, I'd be happy with a 3rd

Doesn't matter. You can't give him a contract based on pro-rated numbers. You also can't give him a contract based on the number of points he scored because it was a short season. You have to land somewhere in the middle. He earns a little extra because he has the potential to put up bigger numbers but it's also not a sure thing.

If he were to score 60 points in a normal season, he would get close 5 million dollars. If he scored 45 points in a normal season, he would get close to 3 million dollars. You have to settle somewhere in the middle and give him close to 4 million.

Unlikely he takes a 7 year deal at that price. Guaranteed money is nice but a guy like Kadri probably thinks, if not knows, that he can put up numbers and that means a bigger pay day as a UFA.

I love how people want to send Kessel for electro shock therapy or something because he's only got sixteen points lol...everyone's gonna have ups and downs in this compressed season, don't write off Kessel just yet

its not pro-rated numbers. its almost a ppg in a legitimate nhl season.
