Fun fact, if Vancouver was in the North East, they'd be sitting at 5th in the division.

Fun fact this is the second best start to a canucks season since 2004. The more you know.

First year on the big ice, and he doesn't have much help. He'll be fine. I'm not worried about Silvferberg at all.

It's not jealousy, I give all the credit in the world to Kadri- however, it's classic Toronto media. Jump all over a player who is doing well and alienate them until they drop off the face of the earth.

i meant in terms of qualified top 6 wingers, the leafs have 4 already. but yes he would be an upgrade on all 4.

MY god man.. if Perry signs.. shoot any other winger on the team for all I care.. he'd instantly become our best player.

barring buyouts or trades you won;t. Bozak, kadri, gunnarson, and franson are probably going to eat 13 of the 17 million available. gives you 17 players signed. leafs are carrying 23 this year. leaves 4 million to sign 6 players.
- sens rock

I think that's exactly why the Leafs using the buyout option is a very, very safe bet. The occurrence of trades is also a safe bet.

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Kadri-Frattin
MacArthur-Grabo-Kulemin
Komvarov-McClement-McLaren

And when the Leafs need to insert some toughness. Scratch MacArthur, put Komarov with Grabo and Kulie, and add in Orr.

Not true, inflated stats, because they don't play North East teams. Imagine the Sedins picking their teeth out of the boards EVERY OTHER GAME!!

Trade Liles now, 3.8M gone. Alot of teams will want a PMD like liles, teams that have the capspace to take him on.

Komi may be tradeable on his last year if we take a portion of his contract with giving a draft pick like a 5th Rounder or something

What the (frank), look at the standings. Chicago right now reminds me of in the WWF they would bring in the new badass heel who would just brutally destroy everyone and the announcer would always bust a classic line like 'The question is, can anyone stop this MONSTER?' Wtf, they haven't lost in regulation yet? What the (frank) is that? That's sick.

Hawks, Boston, and freaking Anaheim and the Habs are very impressive with what they've done. Ottawa is some kind of mutant you can't kill as well.

The Leafs are interesting so far. The not-impossible prospect of Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Winnipeg being in the playoffs is interesting. Since Winnipeg goes west next year it is literally the only time it's ever going to be possible. That would be the brownest poop ever.

Unlikely he holds out.

It may cost us a lot, but we knew we''d have to pay up over the long-term, so let's get him down while his demands are only based on one year's work.

A 'bridge' deal would only give him a couple more seasons to perform and thus increase his value.

Something along the lines of JVR's deal would be good, 6-7 years at 4 per

Overpay, and sign him to a two year deal. Then he would stay an RFA and you can lock him up at a proper salary.
