It's mostly his speed. He just can't seem to keep up.

He definitely can be lazy sometimes. Not even the back checking parts, offensively too. He hasn't looked lazy at all this year but in years past he's been highly criticized for being lazy

Yup. They already seemed to be getting all the momentum in the game, and he just took a really stupid penalty.

It's funny to me how Vanek has changed his perception this season to some. He had a reputation of disappearing for stretches too. If he would have had a 9 game stretch where he had only 1 G and was a -3 any season in the past people would have started with it. I guess when your team stinks this bad no one even notices.

I have been a critic of Vanek in the past and I didn't notice really. There are way more troubling things on this team than Vanek being in a scoring slump.
