Actually, I was never taught about the Napoleon era at school. They basically jump to Nouvelle-France when it's created, barely any French history knowledge beyond that.

I bought a few books about him and once I'm done with the one I am reading I'll get to them. Read a few of his stunts he pulled and gotta say I like him, but I hardly know the whole story. I'll get back at you when I do.

He did pull off a few brilliant military moves, but he also had some epic disasters. See Russia where he started a campaign with 450 000 men and returned with less than 40 000.

Well from what I've gathered so far, Talleyrand was the smarter of the two.

What he pulled to prove to the other leaders that Napoléon could still be a threat was a masterpiece
