This is getting confusing. It is not clear if a team that signs a RFA, has to put the player on waivers in order to join the team. There are two schools of thought here. Contract ambiguity I believe is at play.

It is clear, RFA's signed halfway through a season don't pass through waivers. If he accepts an offer sheet it's as though he was a UFA and all foreign UFA's signed during a season need to pass waivers to enter the league.
