Isn't Providence in one of the weaker NCAA divisions? I know it isn't in the pooptastic one like RPI/Cloud State and such. I'm not really knowledgeable about the college system, it's very convoluted.
- AdamFrench

No it's in one of the best, the Hockey East. Boston College, Providence College, University of NH, Boston University and a few other solid teams. Beat UNH the other week who was 3rd in the country at the time.

Seriously, the way this rule is, its collusion, or anti-trust or something, get a lawyer on here please, I know its wrong somehow.
- mykokes

The whole CBA is anti-trust and collusion, that's the point of it. To have agreements between players and owners that otherwise would be illegal. Also why the decertification ploy is an effective one. Imagine any other industry where you don't get to pick your employer but are drafted by one and have severe restrictions o. The contract you are allowed to sign.

Garbage? It may not be a prime package we're offering, but they're getting something for this deal.

Komi goes home, they get a prospect(not a great one, might add, but nevertheless) and a 2nd round pick to smooth things over.

If Nino does want out, then he can be had for the right price

- AngryWhiteMale

If Komi didn't come with a huge price tag to his name, then they might entertain the idea. As for Carter Ashton, I've watched enough marlies games last year and this year, and in my opinion I don't think he will ever crack the NHL. Solid skater and big body, he just doesn't seem to have the vision to be an impact player in any situation. I could be wrong on that one but thats just how I have evaluated. A 2nd rounder, yeah meh. It's a decent pick.

All that being said Nino is a 5th overall draft pick. Realistically, don't you think someone else can put together a much better package??

Perhaps I used a poor term in garbage, but I just don't see any of the above being of any worth, other then a 2nd rounder.

I don't know

TSNBobMcKenzie: When I first saw CGY would've had to put ROR on waivers, first thought was: So does COL. But new application of 13:23 in new CBA saves Avs.

But the rule the way it is restricts the abilities of the RFA holdout to get the best contract he can, and I don't mean the compensation part. I mean, theoretically no team should want to offer sheet him because they won't get him. So that means he's either going to have to sign the contract Colorado gives him or not play for the entire year. Seriously, they locked the season out and still managed to (frank) up the CBA. This is bullpoop. I'm not laughing at Feaster, I'm laughing at the (frank)ing rule.

Just a wrinkle because he played in Europe while the season was on. Future RFA holdouts (same as previous ones) won't do that or else they will be limiting whether teams can offer sheet them. One time occurrence in my opinion. Now everybody is fully aware of the wrinkle and will avoid in the future.

You weren't disagreeing...you were specifically saying it was incorrect based on your belief that you couldn't believe a GM would do that....even going as far as saying anyone who stated that was just trying to stir things up.

It wasn't anywhere near gloating.....just a simple reply to your accusation.
