Lupul wouldn't be great on a checking line either.

Keep the defensive wingers on the defensive lines, and the best offensive wingers on the offensive lines.


I'm sorry to say to his fans, but Mac is not one of our top-4 offensive wingers. Hell, you could argue Kulemin is ahead of him on the offensive charts.

In other situations it's not easy to determine motive. In this case, Benn really had no other motive than to injure...and should be suspended accordingly.

Gunnar thing seems like a stretch. Seems they feel he's one of their best 6. If not, they'd already have him getting surgery and bring up Frattin.

Mac or Kuli likeliest to get traded - need to make room for 2 players in top 9.

They have 3 players to get back in the lineup and only 1 they can send down. Maybe waivers for Steckel is a 2nd spot, but then what - Mac/Kuli on the 4th line?

I also agree it is a stretch for the gunnarsson LTIR idea, but have noticed that when roster issues have risen in the past, that someone else seems to get hurt and put on IR. Have to wonder sometimes how legit some of the injuries are...could easily see something where Brown "gets hurt" in practice and is put on IR for 1-2 weeks while a trade gets worked out.

Either way, barring the crazy idea above some movement has to happen.

Yah certainly not impossible. But likely to be Brown/Steckel as you say, moreso than Gunnar.

There will be no excuse for Monday. They get to rest at home for 3 days...they'll be rested, healed, etc. and Carlyle has time to skate them and work out some things that have started to fall apart.

Devils and Pens don't bother me too much. Marty seems to have sub-par games vs Leafs the last few seasons. Pens though dangerous don't seem to have the defensive structure that causes Leafs touble, and they ususally do pretty good against them.

Boston and Ott play that tight defensive/constant pressure in all zones of the ice style. This is where the Leafs are challenged and have trouble, so not to optimistic about those games.
