So from someone who can talk reasonably about there team and not get insanely offended. Why was tonights game so close? I couldnt watch it, But I frequently check NHL.com/scores for pool reasons. Was Reimer a little shaky? ( I think it was his first game back, I could be wrong)

Either way, Your captain did what a captain should do and won the game in OT.

We prefer the term "rusty" to "shaky."

Thank you very much.

But yeah, rusty.

It was very sloppy, the Leafs are getting hemmed into their own zone too much, mainly due to the forwards not fighting hard enough along the boards. Kadri was phenomenal tonight. Reimer's timing was way off, rusty.

Ten years of missing the playoffs can do that to people (no offense) I came in here to give the kid some props and got ambushed by that idiot.

Im happy for Kadri and thought I'd let the Leafs fans know I think they have a great commodity there. Thats all

- vancity787

i see your point, but are you debating this logically or or you just lashing out by calling the guy an idiot?

Reimer was sitting too deep... did that last season after the concussion so he didn't get hit as much.. so it allows top shelf shots.. he probably is protecting that knee from contact in his first game back.. he will rebound and get better.. sure ST. Crioux will have the convo about sitting too deep.

Then later inn the game the Isles committed more men forward... hemming the Leafs in their own zone... bad clearly attempts led to goals...

Reimer was shaky... hoping it's just the rust from playing for the 1st time in 2 weeks.

The Leafs have hit the dog days. It's the part of the schedule, where you're tired allot of nights and players are disoriented, due to injured team-mates. Once the Leafs get Lupul and Frattin back, they'll be in better shape to make a good run at a playoff spots. Some teams are peaking too soon, and will be heading downwards in the standings eventually. Leafs need to open up their roster, getting rid of deadwood, so they can cycle players in and out of the lineup and giving them rest, when required. This short schedule will wear down players that play 25+ minutes a game. Best to roll 4 lines and make changes, in back to back games.

Yeah that was the correction he made from Allaire... he will get back in there.. just think they have to ease him back in.. give Scrivens more games.. that way the knee gets fully back to strength. That way he will be more confident to come out.

I had a similar injury last summer and it took 6 weeks before the knee wouldn't buckle...

Agreed fully.. they just have to remain consistent.. and grind those slow games and pick up some dirty points until the others collapse...

It's good to be 4 games over .500, then being a game or two under. Right now, with all of the loser points being dolled out, it's hard to jump over teams. Get behind 4 or 5 and your already out. For all intensive purposes, the Islanders, Sabres and Florida are already eliminated, because of the loser points and teams playing one another. Their only way out, is to win every game in regulation, the rest of the way. It's not going to happen. Leafs have not lost 2 in a row in quite a while now, so if they maintain that, they would get in.

Leafs have some issues with it also.. forwards don't clear the zone well.. and even defenders.. fanning on shots.. when they have time to clear it... it is really annoying...

When we played Tampa a couple of weeks back.. Tampa cleared the zone so effortlessly... we had to battle for each one.

It has improved but is still one of our weak spots... haven't seen enough Canucks games to comment...
