A goalie who plays the puck well will help out any D... He was pretty shaky playing the puck before last night so im not convinced yet, he isn't Carey Price good thats for sure. Leafs need to keep all the shots to the outside to be successful. So if he could control those rebounds a little better it would go a long way. I think Reimer is better but its really hard to say right now.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Yep he needs his rebounds but its tough Reimer doesn't scoop up every puck and sometimes has zero clue where it is - even Prices glove ( I used to love calling it his BLOCKING TRAPPER ) hand is suspect - dropped one last night even though it was Franson the heavy shot might have tricked him a bit.

You can barely call that a fight.

Did I say Kadri would win against Neil? All I said was he was tougher than you would think.

yup... which isn't necessarily a good thing, is all I'm saying.
- Big_Lightnin

Sure it is, unlike Kessel who shy's away when the going gets tough, i fully expect kadri to pushback.

I think anyone who watched Kadri in his junior years knows he can fight. He plays like a Canadian thru and true.

Not going to argue on that.
Still, just because you're tall, doesn't make you tough.

- slashtrash

No for sure I scrapped my whole life 5'7" midget - hockey or at school. that height you either gotta suck it up or go in swinging - but when a guy on skates has a big reach advantage and this is the NHL not like he can't skate or something - Kadri would have a hard time with Hedman. Just my opinion

He has pound for pound toughness. But aside from that punch he threw at Hedman, he hasn't shown much of it at the NHL level yet this year.

Fair enough. How about challenging Prust later in the game?
- RedwingsAreKHL

I know we're officially in "beating a dead horse" territory here, but Prust refused to fight earlier in the game, and had zero motivation to fight once the Habs had the lead.

The Leafs looking like they were skating in slush and had nothing going for them. Prust had no interest in giving us a free momentum bounce. Rightfully so.

The only interest Prust had in fighting all game was at a moment when he knew Phaneuf had to refuse.

keep stoking the flames, bud.

leafs were full marks for the dominant 6-0 win a few weks ago but to actually imply the 5 minute major last night was the turning point? HAAAAAAAA! sour grapes.

Did Scrivens play the puck well enuff for you last night?

He only let in 1 bad goal and that was patches 2 nd one - which phaneuf should have been able to clear - Scrivens puck handling abilities puts him ahead of Reimer in goal I believe - Reimer tonite but 1st game back so we won't use tonite as the test but the nextz couple for sure - I think we will see Scrivens back in.

What do u think aard?

Nobody will want Bozak until he trades his ringette stick in for a hockey stick.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle

Matt Frattin will not play tonight. Remains on IR and the Leafs will have to demote/trade someone once he's ready. May be another 6-7 days.

Not sure if you need a reader but it is obvious - Reimer handles the puck like a 10 yr old who has only worn the pads 3 times and Scrivens well....has 10x the confidence with the puck and I was talking to aard

Just kidding but I do believe - wait and see - I. Hoping I'm way wrong and we won't see Scrivens for a while.

And yet he didn't. This is exactly why Phaneuf, being the captain and leader, should have stepped up at some point. To remind his team how they have to play to succeed.

Well I see Chara covering up, and Neill showing mercy. So ya, thats a mercy kill in my books.
- faceto27

What????. Chara whooped him and they tangled and fell - Neil didn't hit him when he was down because he didn't want the big z to get back up
