On one hand, you're saying the team is better with him out of the game, then on the other, you're saying that he was wise not to fight Prust during that PK because he's too valuable to the team.

He's finally on a team where he isn't the biggest diver, so he looks better by comparison.

It depends on the guy and the team. But considering the Leafs are trying to forge an identity as this big, tough team, it would make sense if the captain led by example. Chara is a lot bigger than Phaneuf but Chara can and will fight when the time calls for it.
