Just seems strange that both of the D that the organization has who are considered to be PMD, are not in the lineup. I know Liles was not playing great, but if the coach really wanted a guy with those skills, one of the two would be in the lineup. I believe that he does not value that skill set that much.

Is it the right decision? I don't know, but I doubt we see any changes unless they go into a tail spin.

- vermie22

Imo Liles is sitting because the one thing he supposedly does well (PMD), he isn't doing well.

Dress the entire Marlies line-up just for one game. Teach those bums a lesson.

knew someone would call me on that. Still can't stand the guy though.

He did get worked so he probably won't try again....Neil feels rather timid without Carkner riding shotgun...
Neil plays hide and seek now

No, I don't think we need to make any changes. Also, I want to edit my comment, as I totally forgot that the Ducks had Niedermayer when they won the cup. So outside dealing with contracts and waivers, I don't have any other good reasons why Gardiner is not with the Leafs.
- vermie22

We were winning games, and the guys who would go down are all playing decently. But that is changing imo

No, he should play defense and make Gallagher's life hell instead of the other way around.

Leafs lost mostly because brown was ejected.. They were outplayed but they lost cuz they were afraid of prust.. Dion let them down last night IMO.

I'm not calling for any real drastic changes....putting in Liles (Gardiner is my first option) for Kostka or Holtzer isn't drastic to me, either is starting Reimer (who is the #1 anyways, imo).
- blahman20

Here's my only question: is Remier 100% ready to go?

Because if he's 99.9% ready to go, we would be much better off giving the Scrimshander (look it up) another start and getting the extra four days for Reimer to get that added 0.1%

Just sayin'.

I do wonder what happens in an alternate universe where Dion fights Prust there and the Leafs still lose.

Would he be the most selfish d-bag in the world?

We we're killing of a 5 minute penalty....
If Prust got Dion to fight....Phaneuf and Prust both off the ice for 5 minutes. I'm sure Montreal will take that all day long.
If your a leaf fan you have to say no. Shouldn't have fought at that point in time....In saying that; once the Candians took the 2 goal lead with under 5 minutes to play Dion should of laid a monster hit and then fought who ever came in to start poop. IMO

Dion Phaneuf - the Leafs' best defenceman - suckered a Habs 4th liner into staying in the Leafs' end on a 5 minute powerplay, forcing the Habs to regroup instead of rushing the puck back into the zone.

If Phaneuf fights, he's off for about 4 minutes of a 5 minute major penalty kill.

Seriously, why are we having this discussion?

Phaneuf did the right thing.

Period.

You harp on D'Amigo all the time, how many games have you actually paid attention to him on the ice?

He works hard and is good defensively, he will be no more than a third liner if he makes it, let the hate go Wedgie.

anyone read c'mon ref.

kerry states that the leafs were fouled last in the brown hit (should've been 5 minutes only) and in the bozak faceoff debacle (play should be called dead and redone)

it would of been a diffrent game if it wasn't for those moment in the game last night.

Don't be so forceful with your opinions man.. It's kinda a buzzkill. It probably would have been a different outcome if he stood up for himself
