Jesus Christ. Did you even ready what you wrote. Holy crap.

Toews fought Thornton who both happen to be #1 centres. Do not compare that to dion and Prust. Pure stupidity. Why would phanuef take himself out for 5mins for a scrub? Prust declined 3 other invites, but yet dion doesn't want to fight a guy 5 level below him while on a 5min pk and he's a wussy.

Pure stupidity.

Next time Crosby doesn't try to fight Rinaldo while he's on the pp will his leadership be called into question?

- burn

I go after Dion as much as the next guy, but there is no way he fights Prust there. Prust turned down 3 other fights like a punk female dog.

Dion wasn't even scared of him, came right back after and flattened him again.

Looks like Reimer gets the net tonight.

Had Scrivens played well yesterday, the decision might have been harder to make, but in a back-to-back after coming off a shaky performance? Yeah, I think this is a good call.

The only time I thought this was effective was the 1st game vs Ott. I noticed Kadri's line was against Neil's line most of that game, and felt that Orr being out there kept Neil from trying to stir things up. We all know, there is no way Neil will ever drop them against the likes of Orr or McClaren.

Also a small break coming up, you want to get Reimer in there if he is ready to go.

Insult to injury... I just read that Gionta's empty net goal was counted against Scrivens Goals Against and SV% for the game becasue he hadn't reached the bench. Brutal. He should have a word with Kessel over that

oh please. he has done it before.. skates hard into the middle, takes the bump, and fires from a better angle

i am not saying he should dive into the front of the net scrums.. just stop shooting from the side boards constantly

when he cuts to the middle he is more effective.. but he's going to get bumped

- Dozzer

He's not going to cut to the middle hard when he's scared out there...which it really looks like he is right now.

The real reason I suggested Komarov was to provide some back-up faceoff support. I have not looked at his stats, but I can't remember seeing him loose too many when he was called upon. Many of the draws I remember him winning were clean wins too.

Yeah, but they don't have too many options there.

Frattin coming back fills a huge hole in the line-up. Mac could go back up with Kuli and Grabo, and McClement could go to the third or fourth line, switching with Komarov.

I agree with this...Scrivens played decently for coming into a tough situation like he did. To me though, Reimer is the #1, he just seems a lot more sure of himself in the net and overall moves a little better than Scrivens. Not to knock Scrivens at all, he played a lot better than I thought he would.

I agree with this Bruce, but I am still wondering if this is a result of him being intimidated/lack of confidence, or coaching telling to use his speed on the outside.
- vermie22

oh i am not pretending to know why.. but thats the difference i am noticing

everytime he seems to slump or have his production drop off its the same thing.. he stays to the outside and doesnt get into the middle of the ice

More minutes for Kadri please. Seen enough to suggest that he is the first line centre we've been hoping for. And leading the team in points and forwards in +/-, I don't feel one bit guilty are drunk on the Koolaid suggesting he should be our #1 centre. Hate away (frank)ers.

Oh and call up Gardiner now. Holzer got his shot to compete against Fraser and Kostka, he's lost this round of d-man survivor.

that is not an excuse in my books

you are paid 5+ million dollars to be a hockey player.. and then you dont use the most effective trick in your arsenal because you're scared?

boo hoo.

it better not be fear.. i certainly hope its him following coaching instruction

Down the stretch, I do think this team sinks or swims with Reimer.

Scrivens throws out so many rebounds and we get caught playing pond hockey. Reimer fits Carlyle's game plan better: more stoppages, calmer pace, etc.

I agree with you totally, but from what i've seen from Kessel since he's been here...the only time he wants to really compete is when he gets mad. I have seen him cross the middle lots of time, but lately he just seems like he doesn't want to even compete. It's ridiculous really...Hopefully Lupul coming back can get him going. I wouldn't mind see JVR with Kadri when Lupul is back.
