Funny thing about those drafts too....they rest of the first round outside of the top 2 (in '04) and the top pick (in '05) were pretty bad, if Pittsburgh gets any other pick their franchise is nowhere close to where it is. Luck of the draw. - blahman20

Let me take it further. If you get Crosby on the half wall to take a few skating strides and attack the seam there WILL be somebody that steps to him. Either he gets to shoot, go back side to Bennett, slide the puck to the goal line to Kunitz, or in my perfect world have Letang on the left point as well. Who better to trust making choices like that than Sidney Crosby. - Gunner Staal
exactly. that pass for bennett for his first goal was awesome. and just especially now, with his unwillingness to take shots (especially from that range) its only going to allow teams to back off of him and obstruct the passing lanes for him. i just dont see this as putting the players in the best position to succeed. i know he is Crosby and he will still be decent anywhere on the ice, but the fact is to me this is very poor utilization of the team's assets |

Crosby is easily the best player in the world, Malkin is awesome, Letang is a sweet puck-mover, and Neal can really bury the puck. Oh and I loved Mario's skill and Jagr's mullet....that's as far as it goes. - blahman20

You should have someone check. It would be embarrassing if you bought your aunt a purse or something and found out you were wrong. |

Penguins showing a No. 1 power play with Letang and Crosby on points, Bennett, Neal and Kunitz up front.
I really like Bennett getting a look as a right handed shot, but to take Martin off #1 unit is blasphemy. - Gunner Staal

I think Crosby on the half wall hasnt looked as good the last few games. He is always looking for the Whitneyâ„¢ play and his shot hasnt looked as good(combined with his unwillingness to shoot all of a sudden). With Martin as the PP QB, the need for a shooter on the halfwall was more pronounced. Malkin's absence there as the shooter has been noticeable in my eyes. Given, the PP has been pretty good so everything I just typed is probably nitpicking to some degree. - Rawdog9755
I think the fact that you have trademarked this is fantastic |

Or how about...
"Paul Martin will be leading the NHL in defenseman scoring with 2 points tonight as long as Kronwall is held scoreless"
So, tied with Letang in points, and playing way more sound defense. He really has done a 180. I think he is our most important defenseman right now- yea, i said it. |

so basically youre saying it makes perfect sense to take him off of the powerplay? |

In DB's mind- yes.
I don't worry about practise lines, if that is the PP in the game I'll be upset. |

yeah. ill be the first to admit. i didnt have many kind words to say about martin last year. however, this year he has been a revelation. on defense he has been invaluable. he seems to be the only one on the team who understands the importance of the simple play. he has been such a calming influence on the powerplay even if he doesnt have a great shot. he needs to be back there. |

I believe when he first arrived in Pittsburgh I coined him as a poor man's Nick Lidstrom with a weaker shot. |

Amen. I have a lot of respect for how he wanted to stay here and turn his game around and a lot of respect for the Pens being willing to give the guy that chance. |

What his responsibility is and how many points he has, he actually should have a legit Norris run. Letang is the only reason why Martins success is going very much under the radar |
