that is ridiculous. they are finally developing a steady powerplay. why are they tinkering with it at all? and to have martin off is very foolish right now, and i have always hated crosby back at the point
- stayinthefnnet

Crosby at the point is a great way to tip your hand. He doesnt shoot nearly enough on the PP when he is closer to the goal cage let alone at the blue line. Makes things predictable IMO.

With Malkin out of the lineup there is really no excuse for Crosby not to run the half wall. Furthemore with Bennett (I assume) playing on his off wing in a spot for one timers. Having Crosby down lower will pose a greater risk to the PK for him to slide pucks through the "danger area" over to Bennett.

The great thing about twitter is that its only as good as you make it. You can privatize your account so that nobody follows you and if you dont want to follow Kim Kardashian, you dont have to. Your twitter timeline is only as good as the people you choose to add to it. I used to make fun of twitter. I can definitely admit to being incredibly wrong about it, terrific resource of information.

I might check it out. What do you think the Pens will do at the deadline if they do any at all?

No ill will towards Staal ... just wish Shero would have traded him to Toronto for Kessel

The infatuation people have with this guy is really amazing. I don't get it.

They were never going to get Kessel for Staal anyways. I like the deal Pitt did make.

Kessel has great skill. His name is tarnished because of how he was acquired to a certain degree. He also has had lower end center talent on his lines, yet always seems to find that mid 30's goal plateau. He certainly has flaws to his game but you cant teach that speed and that shot.

He was on my sh*t list for a while because of his 2010 performance in the Olympics though.

With Kessel?? Ability to be a 40+ goal scorer, and who's style would blend extremely well with Crosby.

Kessel with Crosby/Kunitz would be nasty. Both Crosby and Kunitz like to get in deep and do the dirty work and Kessel likes to get to open areas for shots, which Crosby would find.

A faster James Neal in some regards. However he will never reach his ceiling in Toronto until they significantly upgrade his help at the center position.

I actually think Bozak has played well. I do agree, however, Kessel would be far more productive with a higher end center.

I think Crosby on the half wall hasnt looked as good the last few games. He is always looking for the Whitneyâ„¢ play and his shot hasnt looked as good(combined with his unwillingness to shoot all of a sudden). With Martin as the PP QB, the need for a shooter on the halfwall was more pronounced. Malkin's absence there as the shooter has been noticeable in my eyes. Given, the PP has been pretty good so everything I just typed is probably nitpicking to some degree.

If you have a center like Bozak or Tyler Ennis from Buffalo playing top 6 minutes, your team isnt on the path to postseason success.

Seriously, hope Pens can get it together and play something close to 60 minutes.

i dont understand it. yes especially with malkin not there crosby should have the half wall. with crosby at the point you know that no shot is going to come there, and even though he hasnt shown it this year, i still feel he can wreak havoc in close on the powerplay like few others. its just so ass backwards. they finally bring some stability to match their talent and now they are mucking it up. letang and martin should be the points. i just cant fathom how the team doesnt see this.

i feel that all things considered, the haul that the team got for staal was pretty damn good. my thing with kessel is if he is going to cost 7 plus million to retain, then its just not feasible. but at his current contract, id be all over him for the penguins. i dont view him as similar to a hemsky type acquisition at all

Let me take it further. If you get Crosby on the half wall to take a few skating strides and attack the seam there WILL be somebody that steps to him. Either he gets to shoot, go back side to Bennett, slide the puck to the goal line to Kunitz, or in my perfect world have Letang on the left point as well. Who better to trust making choices like that than Sidney Crosby.

Funny thing about those drafts too....they rest of the first round outside of the top 2 (in '04) and the top pick (in '05) were pretty bad, if Pittsburgh gets any other pick their franchise is nowhere close to where it is. Luck of the draw.

Crosby is easily the best player in the world, Malkin is awesome, Letang is a sweet puck-mover, and Neal can really bury the puck. Oh and I loved Mario's skill and Jagr's mullet....that's as far as it goes.
