We need 2 players with attitude on this roster NOW. Iginla and Clowe and hand us the cup!

It certainly looked like it in the second period last night.

This team has a tremendous amount of talent. Unfortunately, it is being squandered by an inability or refusal to play simple, smart hockey. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the defensive zone.

If not for MAF, the Canes would have scored 3 goals in the first period last night. There is utterly no defensive structure. Any sustained pressure by the opposition results in abject panic by this team. Simple plays win games...chip the puck off the boards and out, don't turn and fire it over the glass or worse try a cross goal breakout pass (Niskanen).

That is all the typing for me...need free use of my hands to hold the sky up.

If they dont fire disco then the only player that can help turnaround this teams attitude would be iginla and his leadership and im not saying that would do anything either, just thinking he would be the only chance. When things dont go this teams way they play like hot garbage.

Feel free to keep "the sky is falling" theme going with an E4 Hemsky rumor since everybody knows he is the cure-all to the Pens woes of late.

Respectfully disagree. Yes Iginla would be a great addition but this team needs leadership among the defence.

If they play like yesterday everynight, I guarantee we'll finish last and get to pick MacKinnon

The good thing is that we can make minor adjustments to make this team play hard again.

They'd take Jones.

Though I think Bylsma has been not very good at making adjustments and commanding his players to keep their heads I can't blame him for the goals scored last night. It wasn't lack of physicality it was lack of any defense at all. Go back and watch the game all goals were scored by wide open man in front of the net with 2 Pens just watching. I'm sure DB didn't draw it up like that.

The Pens are a very easy team to play against. It's basically been a day at the beach for players hanging around our net.

Watching the post game and sports shows last night, they all fixated on Crosby talking about effort. The most glaring thing I heard was when Sid said something about "teams know what to expect from us". This is entirely true. Blame goes all around......players and management. The sad part is it seems to be a complicated, time consuming fix.

I don't see a team capable of winning playoff hockey.

I would hope not. Not a d-man for the 100th time. MacKinnon would be that big forward we are lacking forever.

The only "coaching" area of concern I have is their zone exits. Very little diversity in how they plan on exiting defensive zone. Stretch passes are a successful way to break out but it cant be the option all the time. Like anything in life moderation is the key.

Bylsma should hold those guys accountable and know how to make adjustments during the game. Damn. He needs to recycle his ways and work on it. A game plan for each team if needed

I know people are tired of Bylsma saying they "didnt get to their game" but last night they clearly didnt. They had no zone time in the offensive zone. How can you blame Bylsma when the team clearly isnt executing his system?

I know the staff watches a ton of film.... I can just picture them sitting around after watching 2 hours of film on their next opponent, and then saying the same exact same thing as they said for a game plan for the last 15 opponents lol.

In the end, it comes down to consistantly working hard, and attention to detail. You could have Scotty Bowman behind the bench, and if you don't do those things, you aren't gonna win.

that was funny and annoying at the same time

I guess Bylsma has to find a way to make them execute the game plan. If not, he's losing his command.

Not only that, but the lack of effort. Puck possession in the offensive zone was non existent. Even on the PP, they got one chance, Carolina got the loose puck, and it was out of the zone. The Pens lost most of the puck battles.

Teams arent going to bring full effort every night in the regular season. It'd be nice if they did, but its not realistic.

It would be good if they did most of the time...not the reality though

Edit: It's so hard for a team to win back to back championships these days... we need to see fire in our eyes if we want it again.

I would draft Jones over Mckinnon. He is going to be absurdly beast.
