I'd get Eaton, Despres and Boychuk in the game on Saturday. Gotta get some life and hunger in the lineup. - rival22
Despres should have been in tonight's game. Don't understand it.

Exactly.
I also think Letang should watch a couple from the stands and have some personal coaching. He needs to sit down and fix his decision making and discipline right NOW. Bylsma needs to rekindle the fire under their asses and Letang sitting would send a message.
What has happened to the pride in defense and the internal accountability from a few years ago? It used to get a mention in every interview. |

The Devils lost to Winnipeg and Washington. Maybe that should tank the season too - Deadstar
nobody wants to tank the season. Everyone should be mad at how the team has played lately. And we don't have to be a specialist to see we are in need of a couple pieces and more hunger out of this team. Wake the f' up Penguins. |

Sure. Anyone would be good at this point. The empty suit with crossed arms isn't getting it done. |

I think it would be similar to what we have now. He hasn't had good defensive structure in Buffalo in some time. |

Let's stop talking about a coaching change. Bylsma isn't going anywhere this season, and if he did, he'd be replaced by Granato or Hynes, so not much would change systematicly.

Pass on Ruff.
The problem here is if Bylsma gets canned, you have nothing more than recycled trash out there. It's the same old names we have come to know. |

I beg to differ and will continue to talk about it as I please. Another wasted year of 87 and 71. |

How is that different from any other time of coaching changes? Sutter? He was old recycled material, hadn't coached in a good while and didnt he have to be practically begged to come off the farm and coach? When the Pens fired Therrien who was out there? You take a chance on it. If something isn't working you don't just keep doing it.
Sure Bylsma could turn it around, and with the talent on this roster it wouldn't be very hard. I just have a problem watching the same undisciplined team night in and night out. As the saying goes, you can't fire all the players. |

Yeah, Disco is going no where this year. They'll have to blow up again in the playoffs to get him out. |

Though I think Bylsma has been not very good at making adjustments and commanding his players to keep their heads I can't blame him for the goals scored last night. It wasn't lack of physicality it was lack of any defense at all. Go back and watch the game all goals were scored by wide open man in front of the net with 2 Pens just watching. I'm sure DB didn't draw it up like that. |

^this. If we are eliminated first round (and we will be if we keep playing like this), then Bylsma will probably lose his job. I don't think it will happen during the season though...it'd take a complete collapse.

People don't agree with the "system" and I get it. People don't think he makes good in-game adjustments and I believe that to be true. However, is DB accountable for James Neal or Malkin or whoever talking utterly ridiculous penalties out of frustration? Should he be accountable for Kris Letang's mental gaffes that either lead to goals or great scoring chances by the opposition? Bottom line, while DB has faults, this isn't all on him. Players aren't playing like they are capable of doing and the effort isn't there. Not too long ago, we were without Malkin and Crosby at the same time with Letang missing games as well during that stretch. They fought hard; clawed and had success. Someone needs to pop in the tape of some of those games to remind them what a strong work ethic does.

I have issues with Bylsma's inflexibility at times, but most of the pens problems aren't because of the system. It's mental mistakes, lack of attention to detail, and lack of control. Granted, a lot of that falls on the coaching staff, but most of the blame goes to the guys on the ice and in the room. |

If they play like yesterday everynight, I guarantee we'll finish last and get to pick MacKinnon
The good thing is that we can make minor adjustments to make this team play hard again. |

The team will make the playoffs. We've seen this fish before... We get a few horrible performances, then they regroup, tighten up, and go on a winning streak. They listen to everyone saying how great they are, then they get lazy and fall again... Rinse and repeat.

No one goes undefeated in the regular season.....unless you're the blackhawks. And even then it's meaningless towards a cup. |
