I'd like to see Cooke do more, I also think missing Asham or Rupp type players hurts.
- sammy87

Cooke was maybe our best player that game

I've come to the conclusion that he's a huge headcase.

I've brought this up before, but 2 years ago in the worst of the injury days, so many guys were out that everyone seemed to get the alternate captain "A" at some point.... Talbot, Cooke, even Adams. The only Cup winning guys who didn't were TK & Letang. Letang was a "core" player and an all star that year, and I thought it was odd.

Then how he lost his marbles in the Flyers series, and his mental mistakes and even play this year has only re-enforced that.

It is an interesting point about the 'A'

He had a decent game, but he's an agitator, hitter, he needs to get dirty, someone needs to drop the gloves and make the sacrifice other than Bortuzzo when there's less than 2 mins left.

Not good. He may have had a groin or something coming on and maybe thats why they picked up Eaton.

So would you take Eberle for him?

I've lost track, is this the game where they talk afterwards about getting outworked and all that stuff, and then go on a 5 game win streak and we all love them again, or do they have one more bad loss to go?

They can go on a 5 game winning streak, but they have already showed significant inconsistencies. They won 12 in a row last year and got stomped in the first round. To me it's consistency.

Say what you will about Sam Gagner but the Penguins could use his balls lately. A goal and a fight against a much bigger Brendan Dillon.

I'm not saying the Penguins should go out and acquire Gagner, but I'm saying it's time for our skill players to show some (frank)ing balls.

If Martin is down for any length of time and Geno remains out, I'd put my money on the latter......and I'd add a few losses.

I think Saturday against the Habs is going to be quite instructive. I don't like our chances against hard working teams.

We are not a hard working team anymore...I'm worried about the attitude of this team. It's like they quit too easily and can't play physical

Montreal looks like an easy loss. They are the beast of the East with Boston. Everyone else looks pretty mediocre.

Agree. Games like this makes you think the players are waaaaay too comfortable. I hate Disco's system, but this loss had less to do with system and more to do with the players not thinking and working. Frankly, these last two games look like they quit on Bylsma.

He's worse than Goligoski on the PP right now.
- Deadstar

Just watched Dallas PP and you know who tried to make 3 or 4 passes in the same sequence and they were all deflected, nothing was clean. Also blatantly missed the net with a slapshot from the slot.

He's just as bad as I remembered.

Take a look at who beat us ... the Isles at home; Toronto at home; Winnipeg on the road; Florida in Miami; Philadelphia at home; Carolina in Charlotte; New Jersey twice.

Four of those teams won't make the play-offs IMO. Yes, we are mediocre.

I'd get Eaton, Despres and Boychuk in the game on Saturday. Gotta get some life and hunger in the lineup.
