Saw a few times where the Caps were really headhunting.

Loved the crowd all over Ovi too. Wonderful.

How many times did they comment on the fact that the Flyers had a French-Canadian forward line? Pierre heard three guys, who's first language is French, speak French to each other! Amazing!

Can't even believe Cloutier:

Sean Couturier - Here's the guy we're all cheering for, but I see one main issue: Money. Couturier's contract is actually reasonable and the Flyers are capped out. So if they dealt Courturier for, let's say, Ales Hemsky and a pick...Well, Hemsky's cap hit would make a bit of a mess. The only way Couturier works is if the Oilers deal something young and inexpensive (let's say Magnus Paajarvi + a defensive prospect), or if the Oilers take back a big ugly contract as part of a deal. Couturier is perhaps exactly the #2 center the Oilers need, and he's currently caught in a center-ice log jam on the Flyers. If the Oilers make a major deal, this is probably the name you'll see involved from the Flyers.

So where are we? If I was making my best uneducated guess, what are we looking at here? My guess is Couturier. Why? Because out of everything the Oilers need, a big center with two-way skill tops the list. But if you're the Flyers, what can you possibly get from the Oilers to make dealing Couturier make sense?

Couturier was born in Phoenix. I don't think French is the first language there.

I think Spanish is.

1. Giroux and Jake together is a pretty scary combination, I hope they stay together for a long time. Factor in Hartnell and I think our top line is set for at least the next few years.

2. Hartnell is the heart of this team. You can see it in the answers he gives and the way he plays.. Plus he also creates space for Giroux which means he will create space for Jake

3. Pitbull. Here we go!

4. Gagne is a solid add..Not a game changer but adds to the team.

5. I am sure we can all respect what players like Fedetenko and Knuble have done but if everyone was healthy I play McGinn and Harry Z over both of them. I like what Harry Z brings..Speed and plays on the edge.. I remember last season when he went after someone in a fight in response to something else earlier in the season (can't quite remember the details). He needs to stay here.

6. I dont think the hit was dirty..and I think Mike Brown from TO getting a 5 and a game on that hit last night was also a joke.

He had a few nice chances last night offensively aside from the goal. He might have another 20 goal season left in that stick. It'll be interesting to see what they do with him this offseason. If he is consistent through the end of the year, I'd say extend him for a year or 2.

I would be the first person to admit that I was wrong about him if he does!

I was/am hesitent about the Flyers trading picks/prospects for aging players. Last night Gagne look solid and complimented that 3rd line perfectly. I am not going to over react here, it was only one game, but he looked good.

Good win over a tired and outmatched team. It can be dismissed, as a game they should have won, so it's not a big deal. The trouble with that is, they have lost games like this, to teams that they should have beaten.

The two losses to Florida could have them at a game over .500. Holding onto a 3-1 lead against NJ s more points. Couple of games where 2 minutes of stupid play cost them the game.

Game like last night, it was great to see them just beat a team that they should beat and do it in dominating fashion.

I almost feel like I never left. Just walking in the building before the game, knowing everyone, everybody is still here. And a nice welcome I got in the warm-up and after the first five minutes in the period, stuff like that. It's almost like coming back home.

I would do that in a heartbeat. Heck, I'd do Couts for Schultz straight up.

Honestly, the biggest reason I'm OK with it is, there enough time before the TDL, that if they're out of the playoffs, and are sellers, they can easily recoup the pick. If Gagne has a rebirth and is effective and they're still scuffling, maybe he brings back a 2nd from a desperate team.

Totally random...

In 1983-1984 in the QMJHL, Mario Lemieux had 282 points in 70 games. How the hell is that possible?

In hindsight, I would have liked the Flyers to sign J. Schultz last year but who knows what would have happened with all the hype surrounding him? He has been so-so in Edmonton this year.
