Hockey trade speculation is not. Hockey trades SHOULD be built on logic but as with anything that involves humans, it sometimes does not. Sometimes it's based on emotion more than anything which is why a lot of actual trades you do see are head scratchers and not logical.

I missed the Milbury comments last night. I heard he tore Ovie a new one. Would be interesting if he would say it to his face, he probably wouldn't handle Ovechkin as easily as he did that 9 year old kid.

If you wouldn't be totally shocked, then you beleive it's a possibility. That's the issue. Asking for Shattenkirk for Briere is a non starter. It would end the conversation.

Steep decline..Honestly Washington should definately consider moving him before he has little value...you could still get a boat load outta someone who wants to put butts in the seats

He's a few days removed from a hat trick against the NJD. He totally dominated the game from start to finish. Ovechkin's not the player he was, but he's not some bum either.

At the time of that deal, Coburn had played 39 NHL games and was still very much a prospect. Shattenkirk is in his 3rd NHL Season and is established as a very good NHL defenseman.
