Totally agree, but a coach is no good if the owner won't let the GM spend money.
- PuckingOpinion

I agree that prevents them from competing for the big prize, but this team CAN make the dance IF it makes a total, 100% commitment to defense, and plays it the same way on a nightly basis. The team they played tonight, for one example, isn't really all that great. There are great teams, but Carolina, Buffalo and Toronto are three examples that do not fit that description. Those are games a disciplined team with these same players could and should win. That's now 7 points down the cr*pper because of pond hockey. Time to end the madness...

No excuse for Wang not to spend money on a coach. Especially when you are building through the draft. Having a huge payroll is another issue and most would give him a pass. The question is has Garth wanted to hire a better coach and Wang said no or does Garth not want a better coach that overshadows him?

I agree with you, there are a lot of points down the crapper, but to totally blame Capuano is unfair, and even more unfair to blame Snow. Wang is the problem. He hires yes men who, in turn, hire more yes men. It's a doomed system unless Wang sells or makes money off the move to Brooklyn.

Jack did seem like his team won tonight. The coach and these players never learn. This one point probably got Jack at least another 10 games. The way Nabby has been playing I would not bring in back next year.

An overall acceptance of losing.

Both the coaches and players do not fear losing. They probably never hear a word from the owner and GM. There are never any trades. The players and coaches are as comfortable as you can be.

There are just too many holes on this team. They somehow have figured out how to score enough goals but they can't keep it out of their own net.

Lousy system and soft defense is a horrible combo.

Im glad CoCo got his 3 points, but to be honest i still did not think he had an overall great game. Its not that im here to rip on KO even when he has good games. But with 3 points tonight or not, he's still way too soft, slow, and lazy. I was sitting in a perfect seat to see him slip and fall by trying to spring outa zone and completely misplayed the puck and led to the TO overtime goal. It just sums up his year so far. Finally puts up some numbers but cost the team the game.

He made more confident moves and decisions with the puck tonight for sure, but without the puck he was soft and running in circles.

That's the point- there are a lot of teams that aren't that good. This one has shown it can play well. If it plays every period the way it played period two against NJ a couple of weekends ago, it will win a lot more than it has. Wang needs to go, but you have to "run what you brung" to the racetrack. This team is most often using its speed to its disadvantage, as opposed to the opposite.

You need to grab Lindy Ruff and get rid of Happy Jack! Ruff will get your defensive game in order.

Well, to be fair, the slip and fall part has to do with the sh*t ice at the Cesspool de Asbestos in Uniondale. The sooner the better, like I said....

He's not the only guy skating on the ice. Every player was on that ice. I refuse to make excuses for that misplay.

BTW- This team is way too soft. If they ever made the playoffs with this roster they would be getting scraped off the ice during the playoffs. Playoffs are a different animal, so I hear

He had his fair share of good moments the past pair of games, but like you said, without the puck it looks like he doesnt know what to do with himself.

Another night of isles helping someone with THEIR FIRST. I heard butch say kadri has never had a two goal game before and that's when I thought this guy going to inevitably get a hattrick.

Very frustrating. It's always something. Last night nabby was soft .

Okposo finally has solid offensive game. And how does he end it off. He lets phaneuf walk around him in ot and score the game winner.

2-8-1 at home. Just pitiful.

Get news 12 over to my house. I'm depressed.

He made almost the EXACT same quote last year....TSN, like everyone else in the NHL, give the Isles so little attention that no one noticed it or decided to run with it, then.
Must be a slow news day.

More importantly, WTF is going on with the Isles at home??? One their way to 2-9-0 in the barn. Have "all the faithful" booed so much that the whole team has been affected? Or is it just our suck-a$$ coach? Nice glasses Jack....did your vision recently deteriorate or does this explain why reasoner is still in the lineup?

- jmo16

The "old barn" sucks. I can't wait till its a distant memory. Because of these past six years, my lasting impression of this dump is it being half empty night in and night out, with a third of the people who actually do show up being fans of the opponent, sitting around the glass and starting opponent cheers in our teams arena.

My good memories of the Coliseum are long gone, ruined by the sparse and sad crowds and sh**ty teams of the past 20 or so years. I hope they break the lease or negotiate a way out of it. Take a wrecking ball to the NVMC and turn the page on that dump.

That's because there is no pressure to win with the Islanders. As long as Wang gets to circumvent the CBA and spend below the floor on actual salary paid out, then it's "mission accomplished".
