Future seems bright when ur coach hates you... couver fans still gonna win the trade in 2 tears when they have let kass and mags walk? - JVince11
Well we both know Mags was no great loss to either team
I'm not sure about Kass walking, the organization has invested a ton of time and resources into making him a better all round player which has definitely payed off. He also spend alot of time with the twins and seems to fit right into the team.
Unfortunately none of that matter's when it comes to the coach. If he's still a fourth liner on a "AV team" then i bet he walks.
Hopefully we lose Av first |

Well Coho seems to have already achieved alot of that, although defense and foot speed do come into question. I do not see a selke in his future but i do see a consistent 90 point player which could come as soon as next season.
The big guy needs some time no doubt, consistency is the issue, but the grit and fearlessness is nice to see on a soft canucks team. I dont fall in line with those touting him as the second coming of Bert, but if he can consistently put up 60 points and play that rough game he loves then il be one happy fan.
Truly enjoy watching both players hit the ice, was more arguing the wording of Kev's blog, which i assume is exactly what he wanted |

His name is Marcus Foligno. That's why they traded Kassian and didn't think twice about it. - HonkFortheGoose

Hodgson seemed to really work on his foot speed. His defense is what comes into question. Although it doesn't help that the Sabres overall this year are terrible on D. |

Seriously, the kid could definitely make some slick passes but the timing and defensive deficiencies were shameful.
That along with the fact that he was about as physical as toothpick spelled the death of his career. |

They didn't have Girgensons in the system when they traded Kassian. He had nothing to do with it. |

Gonna guess he had zero to do with trading Kassian. Mainly do to he was drafted months after the Kassian/Hodgson trade. |

Teams learned that all they had to do was pressure him by coming at him quickly and he'd cough the puck up without a fight. It didn't take long for them to figure it out and he was never able to correct his game after that. |

True, but i figure with him on the first line with talented line mates, taking offensive zone faceoffs and playing lots of PP minutes should cover his defensive liabilities. That's essentially what Av did to perfection in Coho's regard. |

It doesn't help that of the 2 other forwards he plays with, only 1 is really good defensively. Vanek tends to dangle and wait for the play to come to him. Pommer is really good defensively, but he's more of a positional player. He basically forces guys to give up the puck by getting in the way of passes and stuff. There's nobody on that line that's really "pounding" the other team and forcing them out of the offensive zone. I think that's really what the problem is. |

Coho seems faster this year.... He's definitely got a little more jump in his step. Also they are using him on the PK so they are at least trying to make him more responsible defensively. I agree he's not going to win the Selke though. |

I remember watching TSN's deadline show and hearing a trade had been agreed upon between Buff and Van with a Coho for Kass swap along with, in Bmacs words a "blue-chip defensive prospect". At the time that cooled my tantrum a little thinking McNabb or something of quality was coming back. Needless to say the tantrum fell back into full effect.
To answer ur question yes, yes i do. Coho had definitely proven more at that point in his career and in many regards still has. |

Would be great if Buffalo had a big tough scoring forward on that line instead of Pommer... |

I really liked Coho going into the draft that year and was a fan of his before he was a sabre. So when I saw the trade I was a bit shocked that it only took Kassian to get him.
