hitting a guy with your skate blade a foot of the ice is reckless. never seen anybody go into the corner like that before... - sensarmy_11
please watch the replay. cooke's leg went in the air after him and karlsson bumped into each other going into the corner.
cooke isnt a perfect human being, but it was a hockey play that went sour. nothing more, nothing less. |

no, just really don't base my judgements off of 26 points. if you do, great.
Ottawa has a hell of a coach. keep in mind the penguins made the playoffs without Crosby or malkin. it can be done. |

Get over it seriously. Cooke is clean
Letang can take Karlsson one on one anytime. The guy is a beast as an athlete. I agree Karlsson has a better decision making though. |

did you even look at his numbers before typing that.
letang has had a great half season (42pts in 51 games), has a really good season (50pts in 82games), and other than that has high 20's or low 30's pt totals.
karlsson has a 78pt season and a 45pt season, and those are his only 2 full years (played 20-25 games in AHL as a rookie, only called up in december). by using your standards of greatness for letang, karlsson has been great both full years in the league.
karlsson has played 137 less games, and has only 27 fewer pts.
letang is great, karlsson is better. - sensarmy_11
Letang is far more superior in his own zone than Karlsson. You're arguement isn't good because you're looking at career points. C'mon man! |

i dont know if the sens can hold on to this pace. they have just been dealt too many crappy blows. however, everyone has to take their hats off to how theyve been playing. such responsible, team hockey in which everyone holds themselves accountable for their teammates on the ice. if only the pens played like that |

Very true
Back to the Letang vs Karlsson subject...
Letang is better defensively/faster/can hit & pass/score and Karlsson is a better decision maker, better shot/ can pass, fuid on his skates.
Overall, I'd pick Letang for my team. |

right now honestly i dont know which i would take. the pens need all the physicality that they can get, and letang wins that one hands down, so for the pens letang is probably better. but if you are starting a team from scratch i am really not so sure. |

There were 3 examples of the same type of play shown post game from the first period of the Calgary game from the same night.
It is a common play that ended bad. |

Karlsson is better right now..i love letang but its all about the decisions they are making. Lidstrom was never overly physical but is a hall of fame dman. Karlsson is halfway between a lidstrom/coffey type of player. Letang is more like a niedermayer. Letang just needs to make better decisions thats what is killing him right now. |

We've known for the longest time that the Pens were either going to trade Goligoski or Letang, but not both. You can't trade both puck moving defensemen like that. And it became clearer who the more valuable player was. Letang's not going anywhere. He's critical for this D in moving the puck let alone everything else he does.
