He's never in the lineup long enough to worry about. |

it's a dangerous play. it's taking advantage of a player in a vulnerable position.
if you're the Leafs and you're gonna run around all period the way they did, looking to decapitate guys, you're putting a bull's eye on your back and you get nailed with these calls. it's very simple. - DoubleDown
That's not how penalties are called...no way that's a 5 minute penalty, sorry to say. |

This has everything to do with what happened last game. The refs think they have to lay down the law early. They might cost the Leafs this game in doing so. NHL refs try to do way too much to influence the game. - Jeffmt
Leafs take too much ref abuse.. |

you can't hit someone in a position where they are prone to falling into the boards, regardless of whether it's in the numbers or in the hip. it's a textbook boarding penalty. - joel878
you sound like Kerry Fraser - "Textbook boarding penality".. and just like him your selecting your moment to creatively interpret the "clear cut rules".

When you said "ragdoll" all I could see in my mind was poor little helpless Brian McCabe being ragdolled by Chara using one hand. lol.
Carry on. - sens_in_5
Funny, because when I think of Chara on the Sens, all I can picture him doing is shaking McCabe's hand at the end of the series. |

interesting perspective, i'd have to agree.
refs have to be consistent. they can't be making potential game changing calls basaed on the need to lay the law down.
the reffing has been horrible this season. they need more accountability. - joel878
reffing has been brutal fair enough but if this turns out to be a game-changing call, you can't blame the refs for costing you the game. Brown could easily have just....not hit Gorges. and the Leafs PK can do their job and make the call a moot point. |

Terrible hit. I'd say probably 5-10 games. I'm sure the Habs will send video evidence to the league. |

waaaah.
it's a boarding penalty. textbook in the rulebook, consistently called under the same circumstances. bumping a player when he's in a prone position to fall into the boards.
you're a joke if you think it's a major. everything else that just dribbled out of your mouth is perspective at best. |

Funny how the TSN panel agreed it shouldn't be a 5 minute major. Ah well, move on...hopefully they can limit this PP to 1 goal at the very most. |

Brown ducked down to hit him shoulder to shoulder, and the hit was from the side, don't know what he could have done to make it any cleaner.
