Broken foot..
If that's the case, and he misses times that is a HUGE HUGE loss for the Canuckleheads. - CaptainBlackhawk
Don't tell me Keith shot one into his foot too.
See that wouldn't happen if Duncs just got some elevation ... into the shin pad. |

I also apologize for the comment prior. Instead of just shooting down my comment, I was hoping for a little more feedback which you provided in the quoted post. - nickmo2699
none necessary, dude.
We don't know what Columbus is doing, how the are going to proceed.
We are all just guessing.
Even if you are the last place GM you cannot outwardly go to panic mode, say you are having a fire sale, or giving any sign of weakness in spite of the standings.
Because the other 29 will smell blood like sharks.
When Columbus does start offering guys around, the word will get out, because they not just going to one GM.
Lil Scotty Bowman does have a relationship with Jarmo Kekalainen via Scotty sr.
and of course Kekalainen will be looking /talking to teams with a stable top minor leaguers.
In this discussion, we have really passed over the fact that although he doesn't fit with Chicago, Hayes is fairly sought after minor leaguer because of theings he can do.
I am not saying teams are rattling Bowman's telephone with super offfers...just that teams do like him... |

I think Morin's star has faded significantly. He's three years into his four-year (optional picked up due to age and lack of NHL play under the preivous CB) EL deal and hasn't really shown much beyond the abilty to be injured.
All I've seen and read is that he is a head-down skater, and that's a good way to get killed in the NHL. Considering the fact that he's several years removed from his goal-happy junior career, I don't see many teams finding him to be an attractive piece. |

Do you JJ think that Bolland could be traded this season? I believe that this summer maybe the time to do it. Maybe Stan should make a call to his ex-boss in Florida and make something happen then.. How about Bolly for Shawn Matthias and Panthers second round pick? - MjulQvist

Okay, I was thinking about this possible trade earlier...
What if you make a move for Bishop AND Neil? Maybe something like Emery + Stalberg or a high prospect like Pirri + pick?
I'd had to see Stalberg go but you can bump Frolik up to the 3rd line and put Neil on the 4th and send Carcillo back to the top line. That leaves you with an extra Saad to put in the press box to sit on Uncle Stan's lap.
In addition you have a very talented goaltender who I think could do better in a deep playoff run than Crow. Imagine having this Hawks D play in front of a guy like Bishop. The Hawks are making Emery and Crow look like studs.
Thoughts? |

Think you're being a little too hard on the Beaver there, Ward.
When I saw him at Rockford this year, I thought he was easily Saad's equal if not a little better from a puck distribution perspective.

K. Hayes has had a "difficult" week from "defi"-gate to surgery and done for the year. - ArlingtonRob
Question...is it known if Hayes s h i t in the stairwell as a prank or did he just not get there in time

That's good to hear. From seeing him play live at the tail-end of last year to some of the things I'd read, I'd just concluded/assumed that his development had reached a plateau.
Well played on the dirtiest unintentional joke in television history, btw. |

Bishop could be a future NHL starter, but don't forget that Emery backstopped the Sens to the cup finals in '07.

I personally love Ben Bishop. He's expendable in that organization because they have their goalie of the future (Robin Lehner) in the AHL plus a goalie for the present in Anderson. Only problem is Anderson is currently injured and if he is out passed the trade deadline there would be no reason for the Sens to deal Bishop because he would still be needed. If Stanley can swing a deal centered around Bishop for Bolland and/or Stalberg over the summer, that would be excellent. Only thing is Emery does not need to go the other way because as I said, the Sens are set at goalie so we would need to look to move Crawford or Emery another way (trade).

You can find the same info I read...K. Hayes suspension was all I searched.
The accusation I read was he stumbled out of a campus party annihilated, decided he couldn't wait, dropped trou, did his business, then passed out with his pants around his ankles....that's how he was later found several feet from his "deposit".
No prank, just stupidity...
If my "facts" are wrong, feel free to correct me. |

Brassard has upside...no more or less.
He hasn't been able to stand out lead on the ice with additional scoring on a bad forward group that offers little help around him.
He hasn't made guys better either.
I think there is a better chance that the Hawks acquire a Columbus multi-pick than let theirs go, especially since they have not yet found replacement 2nd & 3rd rounders which I belive they will be looking to do also...
This shorten season provides a unique plane to make deals on...
Some teams despite the short schedule are going to rashly do deals to try and make the playoff...
Others are going to be looking towards next year early and may offer up guys they wouldn't be launching if their team was playing the regular 82 game schedule and they were in contention in middle February. - wiz1901
You probably are much more informed than me on Derek Brassard but if I recall he injured his shoulder in a fight not long after graduating to the NHL. It may be a debilitating type of injury that he can't fully regain mobility with and that has held him back. But considering that he was picked 3 spots after Toews and well before Claude Giroux, I'd say his career has been disappointing to say the least. What else is new from a team that drafted #1's like Zherdev, Brule, Filatov, Picard etc. The only guy other than Nash that really became good is Jacob Voracek.
So if Stanley took a pass or only offers up minor leaguers, I can understand his line of thinking.

Just heard from another source who says he is "99%" certain the issue with Bolland is his back, and not a concussion.
Interesting, because seeing the way he was moving the other night, thinking back on it, makes me wonder if it really isn't the back.
I have followed up with the original source on the concussion to see what's what. It could also be—though unlikely—both. - John Jaeckel
For what its worth....I haven't talked to anyone who thinks it is a concussion.
He has had ribs and shoulder issues in the past as well.

Swap as in trade? Or Brassard taking Bolly's roster spot due to injury?
As a trade I can't see CLB doing this. - blackhawk24
Last I checked it is a difficult task to win 2-1, 1-0 when you are the Blue Jackets, or most anyone else for that matter..
They don't need Bolland or anyone like him....
Unless they score more goals or get a Luongo or Miller they will continue to gush red ink in the front office. |
