I've always liked Doc, but I do think he's lost a little bit off his fastball. However, he gives a balanced broadcast. You never get the impression that Emrick is pulling for one team or another and he's ecstatic when either team in the game he's calling makes a good play.

Emrick is still the best US based broadcaster.

I would venture to say Randy Hahn (San Jose) is better now. He's practically impartial during SJ games. He & Drew Remenda are the best PBP team in hockey.

I dont mind him much as ive gotten used to him now on nbc......

Now this guy is another story:

The sad thing is, Pierre could be an excellent analyst, when he gets off the "Got to sell the superstar" stuff.

Like what Bill pointed out early about the kicking the puck to his stick thing....The Flyers scored a goal to tie the game, and the immediate replay was Crosby making a rather routine play in the neutral zone, because Pierre was gushing over it.

Emrick is considered one of the all-time best in the business among his peers. His prep work and knowledge of the game and its history are second to none.

He's also a tremendously considerate human being. Years ago, I wrote an article for NHL.com about the "Voices of the Game", and Doc called me immediately after I requested speaking to him. He was in between meetings and had only 15 minutes, yet he gave me every single second of that time and told me to feel free to call back if I had any other questions.

In that 15 minutes, I learned a LOT of things I never knew about the business and gained a whole different perspective on broadcasting. Emrick makes an extremely difficult job seem almost effortless.

Another Doc story: After he was let go by the Flyers to bring in Jim Jackson, Emrick took Jackson out for lunch and gave him some pointers about the nuances of broadcasting in the Philadelphia market. He didn't have to do that, but that's just the type of person he is.

I'll also hasten to add about Emrick is that he played an important role in Mark Howe finally getting inducted into the HHOF and he keeps beating the drum for Fred Shero to this day.

In and out of the booth, Emrick is one of the all-time greats.

I wish Doc Emrick would do play-by-play of my life.

Knowing you its probably one of those gluten-free/sugar-free (cookie-free) cookies, you hippy.

I want a box of Entenmann's milk chocolates please.

Oreos, Chips Ahoy, had some Nilla Wafers last night. I might not believe in gender roles and social stereotyping but I am a firm believer in cookies.

The happiest thing is when I go down the cookie aisle and see the little "On Sale" tags in front of a bag of cookies.

But they never have these on sale

Great, now we're going to get the 'diversity is the spice of life-- even in cookies!' lesson.

Facist...my wife and I both love those crème wafers. We bought a bag of them for movie night and they were gone by the time the opening credits ended. She vowed we'll never buy them again.

Actually I don't like much diversity within cookies.

Don't like nuts, peanut butter, raisins in my cookies. Not even a fan of the M&M cookies. Chocolate Chip are my go to. Love Oreos as well. I prefer a crunchy cookie to a chewy one.

To me his problem is he is way over the top when talking about the star players and he comes off to me like he is smug because he knows more about hockey then most of the people watching the game. He goes outta of his way to say what Junior team or college a certain player attended and honestly I feel like he is talking down to me when I listen to him.

I like the Keebler cookies with the chocolate fudge. They're top notch. Tried the birthday cake Oreos recently and hated them. Far too sweet for my taste.

I'm kind of with you on this one. I don't agree with the anti-peanut butter sentiment, but I don't like candies nor cookies with raisins or nuts. I don't mind these things separate, but put them in my treats and we've got a problem.

It's not even just stars these days. I was watching a Blues game and he made Vladimir Sobotka and David Perron seem like the greatest players ever. VLADIMIR SOBOTKA AND DAVID PERRON.

Some of the newer Oreo flavored crèmes suck. I'm not a huge peanut fan-love them separately, but not in my cookies or ice cream. But I dig all sorts of cookies.

Adding nuts to a cookie is an excellent way to completely ruin it.

I can eat peanut butter on bread or Ritz crackers but no where else. I hate nuts in general as well. I'm not even a huge fan of chocolate chunk cookies.
