He's just making up for his stellar play as deadline acquisition in the early 00's.

He was one of 3 Flyers that got points in that 2002 1st round vs Patrick Lalime and the Sens

Please somebody tell me that they also saw Giroux give Rinaldo the "no way jose" on the defensive draw before the goal...

I would have rather had Rinaldo take that draw before Feds

Who were the others? I seem to recall McGillis had a goal...and Fedotenko maybe? I give Chechmanek points for style in calling out his listless team mates.

EDIT: I hated that Sens series. It may have frustrated me even more than the '97 debacle in the finals.

Dont want to scroll thru all the posts, but is there an update on what happened to Gus?? He was really doing well moving the puck, hate to see Lilja or Foster (slow a molasses) back in the line up..
- Buzzo

Blocked a shot -- apparently off the skate (but also heard leg injury via Wayne Fish's tweet). I wasn't able to be at the game tonight, so I'm not sure if Holmgren came down and gave an injury status in the locker room after the game (as is typical, but doesn't always happen). Usually the update is "lower body injury. He'll be evaluated again tomorrow."

To be honest they probably looked at the schedule and saw two teams with bad defense and went out on a sales call for Whitney.

Yeah, Feds and McGillis had the goals. Pretty sure Desjardins had an assist somewhere in there. What an awful memory.

Especially given the outcome of the play, but judging from Rinaldo's inspiring yet suspect 100% f/o percentage (1/1), its understandable why his attempt was vetoed.

Which of course begs two questions: why was Giroux kicked out in the first place, and is there honestly nobody better as a replacement in the circle than Feds?

I'm not impressed by Ovechkin at all. I think he's very overrated.

Forsberg. Signed right before the game. He hit Mathieu Perreault with his spleen.

Thanks, It sure seems we are snake bitten with injuries this season. As soon as it starts to look like we are going to get healthy, bang another 1-2 players go down. It sure would be nice to see this team and get a real gauge on them healthy. It has to be hard for Homer to decide on what to do with this team, stay status quo and hope we can get healthy and see what they can do, or be healthy and see the same inconsistency and know some changes are needed.

Another hideous giveaway by Gervais. Sheesh.

He also had several strong (positive) puck moving plays tonight (as did Schenn and Grossman). Nobody's perfect.

Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov

Q: You had pretty close to a shut out there, what happened on the last one?

A: He shot it and the puck got over my glove and he got the quicker one.

Q: Had a real strong first period, looked like you were very confident, were you more confident today than you’ve been the last few games?

A: No I’ve always been confident.

Q: In practice today, you threw the stick. Has there been a little frustration there?

A: No it was for fun, I just want to.

Q: In reference to the previous question: So Lavi (Peter Laviolette) came over and I don’t know if it was a light hearted comment or what?

A: You’re going to have to ask him, I can’t hear him. With other guys shooting pucks and the boards, it was very loud.

Q: Do you generally throw the stick for fun?

A: Yeah once in a while. Sometimes you want something right? Sometimes you wake up and want something.

Q: How big was this win for you guys because you had been struggling?

A: It’s a good way of putting up points. We’ve been in this discussion before. It’s very important – two points – and to continue to be in the playoff race or else. It was a good effort by the team. The bottom line we’ll see how we’re going to perform. We’ve been in this situation before. Would be game next game we going to go and play against the next opponent. We’ll see how it goes against Ottawa (Senators).

Q: Why do you think that’s been, why consistency has been difficult?

A: I have no idea you’re going to have to ask the coach. He handles the team, he prepares the team, and maybe he has answers. I’m just the goalie. I’m here and my job is to stop the puck.

Q: What does Simon (Gagne) bring to the team?

A: He plays very passionate. You know we don’t see him many games in the West and I don’t know he plays a lot. Seems like he had fun tonight.
