can't see tumblr images here at the office, so I will just assume this is something awesomely humorous...like a guy pouring a beer over Frank's head.

(thus setting myself up for crushing disappointment when I get home and can actually view it. It will take my mind off the crushing disappointment of losing to the Caps and having to listen to all the idiot Cap fans down here).

If that what you think it is...you are setting your self up for an major disappointment....Funny but not beer over his head funny

AND, most importantly, he's the only one at a tailgate with an actual tailgate.

Regarding a compliance buy out homer shouldn't say anything to briere. If he buys out briere he still has to pay briere AND briere can get paid more by the team the he signs with (its double the pay day). If briere just waives his nmc and is traded he only gets the rest of his current contract. Put yourself in brieres skates, what would you do?
- moylander

It's being honest and up front with Briere. And it's the fair thing to do to let him know upfront what the plans are.

It blows my mind that people think Keith is a better defenseman than Seabrook.
- GirouxForTheShow

It's debatable who is better. They are both very good, and both are #1 defenseman in my opinion.

Solid question. I know nothing about the Bruins farm club or prospects. A pick, I would love to see the Flyers squeeze a second out of them.

I really like Boychuk, he is a 20 minute a night guy who plays physical and a solid skater.

There's a redundancy factor. It's adding another stay at home physical defenseman to the 3 we already have. We need a defenseman with some puck skills.

So does Gagne get #12 back, or does Harrison Z keep it?

I like Anderson's blogs, but I think he may have an inflated assessment of Briere due to the 2010 playoffs. We can only hope that the GM's do as well. Th thing with St Louis and Boston is that they have a wealth of top notch defensive minded forwards, and can deploy Briere in strictly PP situations and send him out on offensive zone faceoffs. His average start time in the O zone would be like 75%
- Just5

Briere's playoff reputation was made on more then just one Season. He has been clutch in a number of playoff years. And the Anderson mentions his point totals over 68 playoff games. So his assessment of Briere as a playoff performer isn't inflated based on one Season.

But does that make Danny more of a commodity in negotiations or he is still a streaky player that carries a 6.5 mil cap hit

Habs look like a serious playoff threat for the first time in a long time. They have three 2nd rounders this year. I bet they would cream their pants for a francophone of Briere's ilk too...

He is a proven playoff performer, and clutch player. But the Cap hit he has, that he has another year on his deal after this year. And the NMC, all decrease his value on the trade market. But a team where Cap space isn't an issue, because his Salary is reasonable for the next two years. Might be okay with his contract situation.

I don't care what the guys on the team call him, I refuse to call Gagne 'Gags.'

It reminds me of my best friend's ex-girlfriend whose last name was Aguiar.

Of course we called her Gaguiar.

I know. But if that is the best return you are offered, i don't think you turn it down if you are the Flyers. They can always turn around and now trade a d-man and a pick/forward + to add the puck mover.

Screw the Briere trade talk. After Doc calls 'Briere to Gagne....Scooooooore!" a couple of times tonight and the Flyers begin their roll to the postseason in earnest, all this Briere trade talk will be moot.
The switch is gettin' flipped baby!

But so far, it's been a one game switch. And someone shuts the damn thing off after the game.
