What is he supposed to say? I doubt the flyers have even approached him about it.

It's not that, it's that Seravalli said Briere would not waive his NMC when Briere never said such a thing.

If the Flyers come to a decision that they're ready to move on from Briere. they should simply say, look, we're going to buy you out after the Season. So how about doing us a favor and allow us to get an asset for the future? We appreciate all you've done for us, but we've treated you good also. See what he says.

Seravalli's tweet:

With rumors swirling, Danny Briere says he will not waive his no-trade clause to go anywhere else. Exclusive: http://ph.ly/vvjKs

Okay, confusion cleared up.

He wrote that the Flyers have not asked him to. But Briere's quote was not an equivocal denial of his willingness to consider trade.

What Frank tweeted was not exactly what Briere is quoted as saying.

I think he'd waive. Plus you don't want to feel unwelcome anywhere.

I think right now, Shattenkirk is a #2 NHL defenseman. But probably would be the best among the current Flyers oveall.

I tend to agree he has the most potential, but I wouldn't say ahead of them all... Maybe in area like offense of defense, sure, but not overall. People forget, Shattenkirk has only had 1 good year... And it was under Ken's defensive system in St. Louis with excellent two-way forwards...

I'd argue, defensively, both Coburn and Grossmann are better. Shattenkirk would be our best offensive D.

Thats what I've talked about. Is it hard to believe Briere won't do us this solid? Damn we've paid him enough money.

I would agree he is not a clear cut number 1. Maybe the best 2 in the league (Seabrook). But with a player like that in your D mix. You wouldnt need a number 1.

Well, yeah, he's not as good defensively as Grossmann, but he'd step in as the best puck mover, probably going on the #1 PP unit and seeing a ton of ice time.

Overall, I think that is reasonable. Although that might not be the case right now with Coburn. He's been disapointing this Season.

I can't understand this from St. Louis point of view. I know they can handle the cap hit. But do they similar D coming down their pipeline or something?
