Yes, it would allowed for Boston to trade for him now, buy him out in the summer and for the Flyers to re-sign him as a UFA (although not by prior arrangement if they could prove it).

What would NOT be allowed is for the Flyers to buy him out and then re-sign him at a lower cap figure.

- bmeltzer

Thanks Bill.....this could be a win-win situation for all. Bruins get a great playoff performer for this season's playoffs. Danny gets another shot at a cup then returns to his family locally. Of course, all this depends on the Bruin's intentions on buying him out after the season and the flyers becoming sellers this year......and none of this being prearranged.

If thy get Shattenkirk for Briere, Doug Armstrong should be shot.
- Jsaquella

I'd shoot him myself.

The 2 assists was the kicker that really made me laugh.

I like this post better then yours

"not sure if alot of guys here are confusing shattenkirk with pietrangelo or not but briere for shatenkirk is a pretty fair trade imo, he is nothing spectaculari n fact he was traded with stewart for eric johnson.

what briere would give the blues in the playoffs would far more surpass what we would get from shatty, in fact i would think the blues would have to add something to the deal, not us.

i see guys posting briere+1st's+laughton or maybe coots and scheenn, thats non-sense."

Predictions for tonight's game?

Gag's predictions?

- coffee junkie

since i'm playing tonight - and of course why wouldn't my random middle of the week game that never happens coincide with the flyers game (which is weird they're playing at home on a wednesday) - the flyers will win in a rout. gagne with an assist. +1.

My first shows were Legion of Mary Tower Theater Upper Darby spring 1975,
JGB Tower theater fall 1975, JGB Astor Theater Reading Fall 1976. First Dead show was the amazing Englishtown NJ show in '77.
We weren't old enough to drive to the Jerry shows but my friend had a cool mom who took us to Reading and Upper Darby.

First show was the Spectrum 11/05/79, was my 14th birthday and the best bday present ever!! Only knew a dozen songs or so before the show, was completely blown away by the band!! Been an addict ever since!

I have 3 jerseys.. Carter, Richards, JvR.

Lets just say I am not allowed to get pictures with players or buy their jerseys if we want them to stay around.

- jak521

Lol. I have 4. Carter, Richie, JvR, and Giroux. Time will tell

So Flyers are going after Big Buff and Shattenkirk.

I wonder who they really will end up with.

That would make for some tired arms, but i guess with all of the time he spent being a healthy scratch he should be fine!

Can we get a fight? Doesnt Simmons owe someone on the Caps from last game?

When I get flare ups, mine is very painful. Fortunately, I always do the exercises and unfortunately always wear shoes, so it doesn't often flare.
- Jsaquella

His problems occur when he's out riding his bike more often than he usually does. If he over does it sure enough he wakes up with a painful limp.

I'm getting there. I'm NOT pinning the blame on Laviolette but he is showing some of the signs being in the "coach's death spiral" where you don't have to read very far between the lines (organization publicly says they're "confident" he'll tighten up his system, they bring in an assistant coach of their choosing, going back to the NJ series elimination game and into this season, a couple of players -- Timonen after Game 5 vs. NJ, Bryzgalov at least twice this season -- have uttered the dreaded "ask the coach" quote when asked about things that haven't gone right).
- bmeltzer

I'll go out on a limb and say if the Flyers don't take at least 3 out 4 pts over the next 2 games, Lavy will be fired and replaced by Terry Murray.

I can see that. I wear my work boots when I ride my bike. They have a steel shank in the sole for ladder work.

the tower theater shows were very special for me, small venue, we were in the 10th row, just watching Jerry from up close.

I loved the Spectrum shows but nothing better then seeing them in smaller theater
