It makes sense, though. Timonen's biggest issue that I see is that his first step seems less explosive, and it's the same issue I had when I skated with it-starting up after a stop and changing direction is when I had troubles with it.

Like that Kessel goal the other night, Timonen got beat because he was slow changing direction after the turnover.

That tackle though was beastly...

Someone mentioned a situation before that seems likely (if possible): The Flyers trade Briere to Boston for their cup run this year and include some cap dollars trade-off (not sure how that works). Briere agrees to the trade on the promise that Flyers sign him the following season after he is bought out by Boston....obviously at a lower cap hit.

Is this even possible??

the only thing I know is you can't buy a player out and then have the SAME team resign him.

in the scenario you propose, I think if Boston buys him the Flyers could resign him.

but Im no expert

not sure if alot of guys here are confusing shattenkirk with pietrangelo or not but briere for shatenkirk is a pretty fair trade imo, he is nothing spectaculari n fact he was traded with stewart for eric johnson.

what briere would give the blues in the playoffs would far more surpass what we would get from shatty, in fact i would think the blues would have to add something to the deal, not us.

i see guys posting briere+1st's+laughton or maybe coots and scheenn, thats non-sense.

Probably depends on the person and the injury. I've had planter fascitis several times. For me it was always worst in the mornings right as I got out of bed. After walking around and showering I usually wouldn't notice it at all. It seemed like once the foot was "warmed up" I was all good. Granted, I don't skate for a living, but, at least for me, it was a manageable issue and it went away on its own both times with regularly doing some excercises to stretch the arch of the foot and wearing shoes that have good arch support.

This is more inline with what my son experiences than what Saquella was posting. He had exercises that he does that work quicker for him than rest. He'll sit with a tennis ball in the palm of his foot and roll it around to loosen things up and he has other exercises to strengthen the muscles and tendons.

It comes and goes. He's been a couple months since his last one. It's never bothered him to complain about when he skates but he's 15 so he's not always as forth coming with injuries as we'd like.

Yes, it would allowed for Boston to trade for him now, buy him out in the summer and for the Flyers to re-sign him as a UFA (although not by prior arrangement if they could prove it).

What would NOT be allowed is for the Flyers to buy him out and then re-sign him at a lower cap figure.

It's legally within the rules. You just can't resign a player that you bought out. That would be circumventing the cap.

That high? I figured we practiced face-offs by determining who could pick the dropped cigar off the ground the fastest.

Yes, teams can take on 50% of the cap hit/money. If Briere was traded to Boston and they bought him out, then he can sign anywhere but Boston.

Not sure if the Flyers can assume half of the buy out cost, however.

When I get flare ups, mine is very painful. Fortunately, I always do the exercises and unfortunately always wear shoes, so it doesn't often flare.

I love that '82 show. Still gets fairly regular play in these parts. You know they put it out as an official release right (in case you want to clear away the fog):
