My reaction to the trade:

LOLOMGWTF Ryder really? He sucked! ohwait he has been putting up pretty good numbers oh he's their leading scorer ufa at the end of this season? mmhkay. oh a 3rd round pick? ok not that bad

- _nay_

Cap space and the pick make it a win for the habs. Hopefully on the ice it's a wash, ignoring Cole's poop start.

So Cole was traded for Cammalleri, gotcha.
- God_then_kovy

13 pts in 15 gp, helps the PP, has a good shot,, useless in his own end, Howard can bring back his old avatard

Looks like Ryder Plus

Cole has sucked, all i'm saying is it sounds like people are talking themselves into Ryder being something he's not. Cole is more physical and better in his own zone. One of the resons for that lines success last year was the space that was crested for DD by Pax and Cole. I'm not saying I dislike the trade, I really like it a lot. But you're not going to convince me that Ryder is better than Cole.
- habby

The way Cole played last year was better than the way Ryder ever played. But it was his best season ever and this year he looks sluggish and old. Based on his age and his play this season, I doubt Cole puts up 35 again.

From Meltzer's blog:

10 Brenden Morrow - 14 Jamie Benn - 68 Jaromir Jagr
25 Matt Fraser - 11 Derek Roy - 21 Loui Eriksson
18 Reilly Smith- 20 Cody Eakin - 73 Michael Ryder
24 Eric Nystrom - 38 Vernon Fiddler - 40 Ryan Garbutt

- _nay_

Really?
Ryder is a beast then

Are all his points on the PP?

You're completely missing the point.
- habby

My only point is that Ryder is a better hockey player TODAY than Cole.

All I'm saying is that I don't see how people have talked themselves so quickly into Mtl being better on the ice today than yesterday, that's all.

Mainly because Ryder can still score and has a right hand shot (which we badly lacked up front).

And according to "fan" lineups, he is going to be so pleased going from 1st line minutes with Benn and Roy to 3rd line minutes with Eller and Moen
- Oilhab

He was actually on their 3rd line.

Speaking of Big Wins, it would be nice if the Montreal Canadiens were able to beat a team inside their division once in a blue moon.
