Why keep him, he is the third best center on the team and he is not a third line type of player. Even if he is better than Galchenyuk now which is debatable, he wont be for much longer and I cant see them leaving Galchenyuk on the third line past this year.. plus then there is Eller if you want to leave Galchenyuk on the wing.

Then again thats just my opinion.

- KovyFan27

No it's not your opinion it's fact. They're logjammed at center right now. Galchenyuk will be moved to center next year after he gets a year under his belt. One of him, Plekanec, Eller, or DD will have to either move to the wing or be moved. Now people are FINALLY seeing how good Eller can be, and I don't think Plekanec's going anywhere..

Only leaves one guy.

Meh. I've always known Eller could be how he has been lately, it just comes with experience.

French or not, I don't know how you can keep DD over Eller if you're Bergevin and rationalize it as helping the team. You can't, really.

To be honest, I'm not sure really. It's hard to say what kind of value he'd have to another team. He is skilled, don't get me wrong, but his size leaves something to be desired.

You keep DD solely because he will fetch you nothing, absolutely nothing, so why trade the guy that played way over his head who costs nothing to keep? Dumb move, you lose organizational depth that way, injuries happen, and having too many centers, is way worse than not having enough?...

Meh. Desharnais is a cheap and productive player. Eller can play on the wing... I don't see anything wrong with having 3 productive lines.

Even if Desharnais is an RFA in the summer, he isn't going to cost a whole lot. He can be a consistant 50 pts player.

Habs have far bigger problems like Gionta and Kaberle.
