agreed, Markov and PK have good slap shots but those eventually get blocked, they need someone with a good wrist/snap shot for the in close shots and a right handed player who can do that was also something they needed

Ryders term and cost was also something that does not hurt this team which is good, the old managment would of filled a "need" with a over paid long term player

LOL...when I heard this on the radio this morning I was like WTF!? Really???

The only down side could be the fact that (if in fact they did...which seemed to be the case) guys liked Cole...so it could cause a little "yeah, it's a business guys..." mentality that affects team moral...

I always thought Ryder had a bad rap here in MTL...it's not because a guy scores 30 goals that he should have 80 points...He's not as big a liability defensively as most made him out to be (-50 on a team that was -1,000,000 isn't that bad...)
