We will see...time will be the ultimate...but you guys have already seen Ryders backchecking abilities...maybe he's turned a corner and will be better this time. I think Cole is great player and I wouldnt have traded him..maybe next year if he is still NOT TRYING - I don't think anybody has won the trade but I do believe on paper the Stars got the better player.
- Garnie

Meh, it was 5 years ago. I gotta be honest, I seldom saw him play outside of Montreal, but the Bruins are a hard working team, and if their fans wanted him back, he must have done something good.

I wonder what Oiler fans opinions are on this or Carolina fans for that matter.

Hard to be objective, knowing how much Ryder sucked at the end of his tenure in Montreal, but I think I like this trade.

If he was named otherwise, we'd just be happy that the team traded a power forward who seemingly started to not give a (frank) for a very good sniper and a pick in an apparently very deep draft.

I'm not saying he wasn't trying. I'm saying he looks like a different player. Could it improve in a month? Maybe, but we don't know. This is a different Ryder than what was once in a Hab uniform previously. Is he better than Cole? I don't believe he is, but they are different types of players as well.

Budaj..who's gonna want him? I doubt he's part of a package..but maybe?

Ryder/Subban/ - Getzlaf or Perry? I know Subban is a good player but who knows if he's a MB type player? Getzlaf would look good in a Hab jersey..not as good as a leaf jersey

Anyway, with the cap dropping next year, it was a good move cap-wise. Maybe Cole is better right now (hard to defend when comparing both players' stats), but if he had continued to suck until the end of the year, he could have been a candidate for an amnesty buyout.

what the (frank) are you blathering about thanks for playing? It was a general comment. I'd be interested to hear what Oiler fans think of the trade or Carolina fans or even Dallas fans. They have input on a specific player that even the greatest hockey fan 1st type of guy should be interested in hearing.

When are they making this trade? Ryder is UFA at the end of the season.

probably not..but you never know..but it would have to be soon...but if Subban was included...Ryder would be a throw in for the rest of the season...anyways..probably won't happen..but I'm sure it would be nice for Montreal.
