So...who are the Rangers blaming this time for the lost? Was it another boring game?

Was watching every now and then while playing pool, seemed to be a pretty sloppy game. Weird goals.

Not to much of a homer Eric? Trade just happened and I've always been told the team that gets the best player wins the trade. Dallas wins the trade then!!!! When Habs miss the playoffs they could look back to this trade and cringe. Ryder was chased out of town previous and knowing the hab fans and how they can be totally out to lunch it won't be long and the bell centre will be hearing chants of TRADE RYDER - FIRE MB.

What if the guy picked with the 3rd ends being the best guy in the deal.?

What if the sky was lead and it fell on our heads??

At least let the teams play a few games and then make judgement. Eric posts the win 3 seconds after the trade is made. I hope Ryder works out but I think Cole is a beast - sure he had a slow start he's a little older, new coach, new gm,new systems and just off a lockout. Imo

I like this trade. I don't disagree with what Oilhab is saying, insofar as Cole is coming off an injury, etc. However, Ryder is a different player in some respects from what I've seen watching some Dallas games. He's a different player than Cole of course, but he also kills penalties which is a help. Anyhow, we shall see.

Two things imo:

1- PP help.
2- Cap space moving forward.

And the pick. I like the pick. It may allow for a trade to be made more easily by using that pick, or another one. He's also a right handed shot, which the Habs are short on (Armweak doesn't count, and the good ole Captain barely does).

As did I. Hell, I have another useless Habs jersey to deal with now. But he didn't look like the same player. Again, could he have progressed and become the same at some point in the next month or so - of course. But you don't know for sure, and we don't have the benefit of knowing how he was in the room and all that crap.

Renaud Lavoie said he was a "negative influence" since the season started.

Take it for what it's worth.

Well, even if he wasn't an outright nuisance, a somber attitude from a player looked up to, can have a negative effect.

So...does Gallagher give up 73?

Ya, I hate to see a guy go that played so well last year. But his offseason mouth was ludicrous. Either way I don't see the Habs as contender with Cole or with Ryder or both for that matter. Maybe pick up a top end Dman and another top 6 to replace Gionta and its a different conversation. Cash saved for next season and a 3rd .

We'll miss the hitting on the forecheck more than anything else with Cole but hopefully there's a plan to be aggressive with UFAs this summer.

According to Oilhab, we won't have the space to sign anyone spectacular. I am not a cap geek and so I honestly am not sure if he is correct or not.

We will see...time will be the ultimate...but you guys have already seen Ryders backchecking abilities...maybe he's turned a corner and will be better this time. I think Cole is great player and I wouldnt have traded him..maybe next year if he is still NOT TRYING - I don't think anybody has won the trade but I do believe on paper the Stars got the better player.
