Well if I ever find any ancient Roman artifacts I'll know who to look up.

Time will tell I guess, he gave me/us possibly the impression that he had lost interest, no?

I don't blame MB for getting rid of him.

I have said before, it's the coaches job to motivate.

Edit: do you want someone working for you that may retire? Or may not?

I doubt it.

- pete26

I doubt he is going to retire, i think that is something he was thinking about due to rehabing his injury and the bitterness he felt over the lockout.

but like i said if he does then whatever. Ether way a "big win" it is not

Sure, but if you have an employee that says " I'm thinking about quitting", do you try to retain him or replace him?

I know what you and I would do...

well you would look into it a little deeper and give it some time for him to find his game.

how about this, would you trade Cole to get Cammalleri back? 13 points in 15 games

Can help the PP, and has had better highs in his carrer then ryder and not as defensively liable, still somewhat though

wrong time to trade Cole if you are going to

I'll call it now,
Cole to Carolina for a 1st and mid level prospect at the deadline.

Agreed. Stars end up with the better player, we gain flexibility, PP help and a pick.

Right now Habs win, time will tell if it will remain so.

I thought you had employees?

When someone decides they want to leave, there's not much you can do, but find what's best for your company moving forward.

Circles hinted to it, cammy wanted it. Find what's best and move forward, no?

Don't just look at the player vs player, there is the cap factor and the pick.

no i don't have employees, i did help my dad run a small business for a time but not a lot of employees.

cammy wanted out and that's fine that works when they have made up their mind.

But Cole hasn't made up his mind, he is questioning his future do to a difficult patch. that's when you support the employee.

I asked about bringing back cammy because he brings everything that Ryder does and more, and ignoring the fact that he wanted out, would you trade cole for him?

My guess would be no because the familiarity with what people didn't like about cammy's game is still fresh in their minds, Ryders is hazy at best.

what cap factor? they are not going ot be able to sign anyone else. it just means they won't have to cut as much salary at the end of the year.
I did say it was salary dump, doesn't mean i have to like it.

ON the negative side of the spectrum, this could mean the owner doesn't want to buy out Kaberle and by trading Cole they saved space to keep him or burying him in the minors for a year.

I see.

Nope you don't support the 4.5m per for the next two years, you get the (frank) rid him and his bad attitude.

Sry Oily, he had to go, it was kinda obvious.

Cammy talk his way out too, new house build and all..

Highly doubt the bolded.

I don't think Dallas will trade Cole as the main reason they traded for him was for his contract going forward. They seem to have trouble attracting people there mid-term.

Ryder will be eager to produce since it's his UFA year, so even if we don't keep him, he will most likely bring more production than Cole would have.

I don't think Cole is washed up, I simply think he came out of shape this year because of the lockout. Short term this is a win, and long-term the production of Cole/ the 3rd rounder will define it.

The cap factor is that it gives flexibility to Bergevin to either sign a UFA/resign Ryder or actually 'help' teams in need to dump salary for assets.

Here's the thing Cole hasn't done basically anything for us, he has a bad contract and will be even worse when hes older and slower. He isn't helping the team so we traded him and hopefully add a piece that can make the team better, cap relief, younger player and a 3rd round pick.

Also if the owner was willing to buyout gomez I think he wouldnt care about Kaberlol

Think the third nominee was Trent Hunter.
